#Repost @jonathanjleal • • • Excited to announce the upcoming release of a new album of Rio Grande Valley music: ‘Wild Tongue’! Produced by @charlievela and made possible by the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design, where I’ve been a Creativity in Research Scholar this year, the album features new songs by nine RGV bands and solo acts: Epi and Friends, @daaamn_carmen, @dezorah, @twin_tribes, @mattandtheherdsmen, @mariadluzmusic, @pinkysweartx, @jesikacueta, and @arcanedisplay. It also features cover art by visual artist @celestedelunaart, whose work ‘Lotería Nepantla’ served as conceptual inspiration. — On this record, each artist, in different yet complementary ways, explores place, home, body, and future through new material that pulls no punches. And as a whole, their songs form an anthology of locally specific musical testimony—a reminder that while present hardships may feel endless, wild tongues will not be tamed. — Out on Bandcamp on June 1! — #WildTongue956 #SoundOfRainStudios #EpiAndFriends #CarmenCastillo #DeZorah #TwinTribes #MattAndTheHerdsmen #MariaDLuz #PinkySwear #Jesika #Arcanedisplay #celestedelunaart (at McAllen, Texas)
