Since you mentioned that your own experiences will heavily influence your take on Carmilla, wil it also take place in France? And if so, well, Carmilla in the original novella being a former Austrian noblewoman is important to her backstory and character so I'm curious how would you plan on reworking that.

I've actually considered moving the story to the french countryside, mostly because it felt more comfortable writing it in a setting I'm familiar with instead of in a foreign country. I was also thinking of basing the schloss off some castles near where I live.

But I eventually decided against it because, as you said, Carmilla being an Austrian noblewoman is just who whe is ! As for Laura, I think her being half-Austrian and half-English is also a core trait of her character and plays a huge role in her feelin awkward and lonely, which is what I really want to story to focus on.

So the story will still be set in Austria, and for the architecture I might just do a little mix ahah.

Carmilla characters as Dragon Age classes. GO!!

Carmilla and Laura are semi the hardest so we’re gonna do them last.

LaF is probably the easiest! I mean they would totally effin be a mix between Artificer and a Tempest. (DA:I) They’d work with making crazy machinery that’ll just destroy the battlefield while also excelling in alchemic potions and concoctions to eff yo shit up!

Perry, the dean will come later, would def be a Spirit Healer or a Keeper hands down. (Not to mention they’re the only ones who are basically “good” healers lessbehonest.) She would pass on her knowledge to others, total mamabear, or she’d jump into the fray and heal those who need it. (Am I saying I see Perry as a Dalish elf? Yes. Yes I am.)

The Dean would either be a Necromancer or a mother effin Reaver. It’s kinda a cheat cos duh. But she can raise the dead with way too many incantations to count, or she’ll jump into the fray and feast upon your souls. A truly terrifying sight to behold, that one. Let’s just throw a little Shapeshifter into it too if we’re being generous and making her even more OP.

Danny would obvs be a Templar. There’s like no question. Yeah, there are all sorts of sub classifications for this one, but Templar is more her. She’ll protect all of her party, no matter the cost, and the enemy is literally terrified how she can rally those to her side. (We’re talkin of DA:I Templars here, not the semi corrupted ones from 2, or the very close minded ones from Origins.)

Kirsch. Hmm ya know I think he’d be an Arcane Warrior. I don’t know, it just screams Kirsch to me. I don’t see him as a Beserker or a Reaver. Def an Arcane Warrior.

Mattie. Oh honey bun Mattie. I think she’d either be a Duelist, Rift Mage, or Beserker. I can just see a nice meld of these three trees into one for her. She’s as pragmatic as the duelist, she’s a cruel as the rift mage, and she is as blood thirsty and deadly as the beserker. She will tear you apart with her magic or her bare hands and wouldn’t give a crap about it later.

Mel would be a Champion. Much like Danny, she’s there to rally the people. I think she’s a weaker form of Danny, or even a Ranger at that seeing as she’s fuckin sick with a bow. So you pick!

I’m not even gonna do Theo cos fuck Theo. (But he’d totally be an assassin. YOU KNOW WHY)

Ahem. Let’s see... who are we on. OH last but not least

Laura would totally effin be a mother effin Blood Mage or a Knight Enchanter- I’m leaning more towards the second. (Due to past events, that’s the only reason why I say blood mage first.) But def Knight Enchanter. She’s good at offense, but she’s also right there on the back line with her knowledge backin up the home team with her defense. Laura wouldn’t take no for an answer, and would always push through. Using some magic along the way wouldn’t deter her!

Carmilla would be a bard. I know, right?! Hear me out! Bards are masters at deceit, spying, being saboteurs, SING- ahem, and are all around kickass. We’ve seen that Carmilla will lie to keep the tiny gay- or herself- safe. She literally had to spy on these girls and get their trust for decades, something that the ability to spy would go along with. Saboteur, hello maman, yeah I’mma just put this thorn in your side here. Nat can totally sing, so therefore Carmilla probably can as well- but mostly because those who’ve lived for so long have a lot of skills especially drawing, singing, or dancing in some forms because the older centuries had mother effin class, bruh. And don’t get me started on how kick ass bards are in general. Carmilla would whip out her bow and fuck shit up long before you even knew she was the traitor, and stick that lovely knife in your back if you deserve it. (Or your front, cos lets be real. Also, I thought shapeshifter would be waaaay too obvious here so there ya go.)

With all said and done my big question is how much in control is the dead. Like is Perry unconscious or has she been a prisoner in her own body since the first battle? Is like taking full control only sometimes letting Perry think she in full control while subtlety making her do things or subliminally affecting her mannerisms or how she dresses. Cause if Dean has always been in the drivers seat that mean's Perry confiding in Laf that she felt out of place was entirely an act and I don't think I

Oh.... oh gods I didn’t even think of that. Honestly I think the Dean has been in control since she made Perry murder the journalists. I  assumed she had control of Perry when she was sleeping, and simply became stronger and stronger the more she inhabited her to the point the Dean could control her even when she was awake.

But now I really do believe she was in control the entire time. (But then again, if that’s the case then why would she run downstairs and show her bloodied, carved stomach? Or only showed hints of her being possessed in the latter stages of the season? Hmmm)

So yes, if I’m right that would mean that Dean!Perry simply confided in LaF. HOWEVER, I don’t think it was faked. I think she knows exactly what Perry thinks/would do in certain situations- even going as far as to get upset even though she knew she didn’t have to play along with the game anymore when Kirsch came in. And at certain times she implements those known feelings/mannerisms. So never fret! While it may have been Dean!Perry confiding in LaF, I don’t think the feelings were faked in anyway other than it not fully being Perry herself.

I don’t think Kirsch is dead. Just like Danny, he’s now a member of the vampire army. The Dean lost Will and a lot of her vampires, she’s gotta rebuild. (JP running out to save her, but where in the world did he go hmmm?) And of course MATTIE is back, so will she join her mother again, or will she join Carmilla?
