my mother presented me with this poker chip when i was a little girl after the first game i'd ever won to her; she had installed a small mirror on one side and told me to always keep it close. you know, i've never really believed in luck or coincidences; i believe in choice and skill. but the more i've come to know you and the connection we share, i find that maybe there are things at work that i do not understand. because i never once thought that anyone could make me feel the way that you do. you are my biggest improbability and my greatest gamble.

EXTRAORDINARY AND NORMAL. a series of dialogue prompts from florence and the machine’s everybody scream album. some liberties taken to better fit the overall rpc.

"I let you walk all over me, honey."

The blonde's lips spread in an amused grin, her exhale of smoke getting caught in her throat as she chuckled simultaneously, causing her to cough and shake her head with amusement. Her blue eyes slipped up from the glowing tip of the cigarette perched between her fingers in order to meet Sebastian's eyes. The admission was adorable but Leslie wasn't entirely sure what it was he aspired to accomplish with it.

"A privilege you thoroughly enjoy, darling," she said, spreading her lips over her teeth in a smile that could be deemed threatening. Her lipstick was smudged and what was left of it remained on the filtered tip of her cigarette as she took another long drag, exhaling it through her nostrils this time.

Her chin jutted towards him in a nod, as if challenging him to deny the claim. Why else would he allow her if not enjoyment or manipulation? Although Leslie considered herself less easily manipulated than other's, she wasn't completely immune to the tactic. It made her wonder what Sebastian might want from her other than entertainment, pleasure or blood.

in the quiet of the hotel room, somewhere far enough away for clara to feel some semblance of safety, the words catch her by surprise. she's lying with her back to alessandra's front, arms around her torso and a chest breathing at her back, a deep gaze staring at her; she can feel the heat of that stare along her face. it's the first time in such a long time that she feels truly safe and its because of the other. her eyes close for a second, and she commits this moment to memory - content to look back on it when she needs to - before she turns carefully in the arms of her beloved captor. for a second, her eyes travel reverently across alessandra's face and she feels it building; desire, longing, a kind of pining that only a person can satiate. it's not purely physical but clara does feel like she'll never be close enough. "kiss me," she begs, her words quiet but sure in between them. "please, just kiss me..." she does not move forward to breach the space between her lips and alessandra's because doing so feels like owning the moment and she just wants to share it. she doesn't reach forward to catch alessandra's jaw, to caress the prominent curve there like she desperately wants to; not when doing so might scare the other off. "you can, you know..." she reassures, giving consent and laying herself bare. "anytime you want."

kieran's grip on the brush tightened. he could feel the warmth of her through his shirt, the way her presence took up more room than her body actually occupied. his neck was doing that thing where the heat crept up from his collar, and he hated that she probably noticed. "inspiration and distraction aren't the same thing," he clarified, tone flat. he set the brush down before he did something stupid with it, like smear cadmium yellow across her cheek just to wipe that look off her face. his hand found the back of his neck instead, rubbing at the tension gathered there. "i'd love for you to help," he said, "but you'd have to sit still. which i'm guessing isn't your strong suit." he turned on his stool to face her fully, knees bumping against hers in the tight space. a mistake, probably, but he was tired of pretending the canvas held any interest when she was right there. "you're doing this on purpose," he accused, not pointed as a question. "pretty sure harassment of the artist violates some kind of code," he said, but his eyes dropped to her mouth for half a second before he caught himself.
