we are learning visible mending, friends! this was my second repair using sashiko (specifically the jujizashi stitch) :3

this repair was a pretty big challenge! primarily bc it’s on a fitted bed sheet, right where the corner/pocket seam and bottom elastic meet >< trying to keep the elastic stretched so the fabric could be taut was quite the lil workout for my hand lol. also it was an L-shaped tear, so i ended up making two separate patches and just kind of overlapping them a bit on the inside.

i def need to look up some tutorials on how to properly change rows lol, but this pattern is sooo satisfying to do & very meditative -v- i may just keep practicing it on some scraps i have lying around

so in conjunction with crocheting and weaving i have also decided that i need yet another hobby: knitting.

“technically” i learned knitting first ~10 years ago, but i knit like two (square shaped) things and then bounced 🥸 this time i’ve decided to knit the sailor slippers, which start out looking suspiciously thneed-like (pictured) and then allegedly become slippers after some seaming and felting magic.

did i mention that they start out comically oversized? apparently the felting process should reduce them to my humble caro-sized foot but DAUYM look at these johnnies

can’t stop thinking about this argument i saw two dudes having on facebook & one of them called the other a “giant fucking idiot.” the second guy responded like “i only weigh 170 pounds so idk why you think i’m so giant, nice ad hominem”

and like yeah that was an ad hominem, but also… lol what. like, “um excuse me ☝️ i’m actually only 170lbs, so i’m a MEDIUM-sized fucking idiot” is not the clap back you think it is
