Prompt: Carter is too nervous to approach Caroline, and only admires them from afar.
Caroline was the newest addition to their company and from the first day she arrived, Carter hadn’t been able to keep his gaze away. She looked positively ethereal in her professional attire. Her warm smile just drew people in and on top of that, she was genuinely so nice. Caroline was the perfect woman as far as Carter is concerned.
Once, he was suppose to give some documents to Caroline and he spent a good fifteen minutes hyperventilating in the washroom before he gathered enough of his wits to walk towards her office. But either God took pity on him or decided that he wasn’t worthy, Caroline was nowhere to be found. So dejectedly, Carter left her office after depositing the documents on her desk. On the way out though, it was like Lady Luck smiled at him and granted him another chance at life, Caroline was walking towards him with the cutest smile ever. Carter could feel his heart skip and then beat furiously, his mouth was dry and his throat was closing up. He had practiced what to say in the washroom, but now it was like his brain short-circuited and nothing was coming out.
Before Caroline was able to reach him, however, another associate caught her attention and she stopped in her tracks. At the same time, Carter was told he was needed elsewhere. Sighing, he began to walk away from the woman that has stolen his heart. He turned his head one more time to stare longingly at Caroline’s silhouette. Maybe one day he’ll gather enough courage to talk to her.
