Prompt: Cat knits an ugly sweater and forces Victor to wear it.
Catherine was humming under her breath as her concentration was fully on the two needles in her hands. It was about a month before Christmas and she was on maternity leave. This meant that she’s got way too much time on her hands and way too much back ache. So here she is, lying on the bed and knitting -- in particular, knitting a sweater. Although she can afford to buy Victor a lot of things thanks to her generous trust fund, she always wanted to give him something that’s one of a kind.
Every day, when Victor goes off to work, Catherine would just sit in bed and knit. She wanted this to be done in time for Christmas. It was going to fantastic. She can’t wait to see his reaction when he sees it. At that thought, Catherine smiled sweetly to herself.
The month went by quickly and it was Christmas morning. Catherine had wrapped the sweater into a neat package and placed it under the tree the night before. As Victor began to rip into the packaged sweater, Catherine bit on her lower lip and looked expectantly at Victor’s face.
When confusion clouded his face instead of the delight that she was expecting, Catherine frowned.
“What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” She asked tentatively.
Victor was quick to affirm that he was very grateful for the gift. Catherine beamed when she heard him say that. She insisted for him to change into the sweater right away so she can take pictures of him in it and send it to the rest of the family.
So there he is, Victor, wearing a sweater with a disfigured smiling rabbit on its front, smiling warily at the camera. If this wasn’t the greatest display of love ever, then nobody has truly experienced love.
