Book review: The Dishonorable Miss DeLancey

When this book came to my attention, my interest was piqued. In some ways, my experience into Christian fiction is limited - and the book title, the setting and the summary was very enticing for me. Even if I did not read the previous books in the series, I was very impressed by how the book started - it was very interesting and not predictable which is a challenge to do as a romance story. The way she portrayed the characters were surprisingly relateable, even if they did hold some mystery to them as well. One of the things that may have made my reading experience a bit more complete is if I read the other two books as well, as they contain information and provides more context to understand Clara DeLancey, who is the protagonist of this book. 

One thing I admire the most is the pressing theme of the book - instead of focusing on a love story with a man and a woman, the author, Carolyn Miller captures a beautiful story of how God works in transforming hearts and how this affects how people relate to each other as well. Compared to other romance stories, this added aspect provides the story much more depth and makes it more memorable for readers. 

I recommend this book, and the series to interested bibliophiles such as myself.
