“Mouse” by Carrie Nardello, 2008
Kagey Art Thoughts 19:
Nardello was an artist I came across by chance last weekend when I was walking around San Francisco with Well. She’s another modern artist, and her art is somewhat simplistic, but it’s very cute and comforting to look at. It’s also got a weirdness factor that I am fond of.
Here we have a mouse, which is mostly identifiable by its stereotypical mouse ears and whiskered face, but it’s also somewhat simplified, having no forelegs and such. It has an exclamation mark over its head, implying that the mouse has that fearful reaction that all mice seem to have. It’s good.
