REEEEEEE TYSM JESS YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU @parkerpuffwrites
1. “Don’t give me that puppy dog face. How am I supposed to say no to that?”
Harrison really wanted Chipotle that day. She remembered that much.
He wouldn’t say why, all he was telling her was that he was craving a steak burrito.
“Please, please, pleeeeeease?” He whined, batting his eyelashes and giving her his best eyes.
“Haz, we’ve had Chipotle twice already this week. I’m tired of it, can’t we get something else?”
Harrison batted his eyelashes again, pouting his lips and tilting his head just right so that his beautiful blue eyes twinkled in the sunlight streaming into their living room.
“Don’t give me that puppy dog face. How am I supposed to say no to that?”
“Pretty please?” Harrison moaned, still pouting. “I’ll do whatever you want, I swear.”
Yeah, you’re damn right you will.
She didn’t say that out loud, of course. But that’s how they ended up standing in the park, her mouth wide open at the picnic in front of her. A red and white checkered blanket was strewn on the grass, the white wicker picnic basket perched at its corner, a bottle of champagne just poking out of the top.
“You ass!” She yelled, smacking Harrison across the arm. “You could’ve just told me!”
But that didn’t stop her from smiling as Harrison bent forward to wrap his arms around her, pressing a deep, passionate kiss to her lips.
“Surprise.” He whispered against her lips, and she could feel him smiling.
“You’re the best,” she replied. “I love you.”
Tom was waiting in the bushes, Harry and Sam behind him, binoculars propped up against the bridge of his nose. He watched as they ate the chocolates and sanwiches Harrison brought - peanut butter and jelly, obviously. She was smiling, hair gleaming in the sunlight, and Tom felt himself smile with Harrison just looking at her.
“Ugh,” Harry huffed. “How long is this gonna take?”
“Shut up, assface.” Sam quipped in response. “True love can take its sweet time.”
Tom groaned. “Shut it, both of you. I’m trying to watch.”
About five minutes later, Harrison got a petrified look on his face, and she started to get a little worried.
“Nothing,” He grinned, swallowing. “Just a little nervous is all.”
He beckoned her to stand, and her throat turned hot when he stayed on the ground, propping himself up on one knee. Tears welled in her eyes, and she clutched at his hands. Her knees went weak, and it was a struggle just to keep herself standing, Harrison’s bright blue eyes beaming up at her.
Tears were prickling the corners of his eyes, too.
“For once,” he whispered, “just shut it and listen to me, okay?”
She chuckled weakly, wiping at her nose, but she still nodded.
“I love you,” he continued, “so much. And I can’t see myself doing anything unless you’re by my side. It would make me so happy if you would be by my side for the rest of my life.”
He paused for a second, mainly for dramatic effect, but also so she could choke out a sob.
“I love you so, so much. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?”
Not a split second later, she was in his arms, kissing him passionately, her hands tangled in his hair. Her sobs came out sounding like laughs, but that’s just it -
Tom took that as their cue. They bounded from the bushes, cheering wildly, pulling the newly engaged couple in for a rib-crushing group hug. But even with the three brothers pressed against them, they couldn’t stop staring at each other.
When Tom let them go so he could pop the bottle of champagne, Harrison pulled her into his arms again, their lips locking in another deep, passionate kiss.
“I love you,” he whispered into her lips for the second time that day. “My future wife.”
“I love you most,” she replied, her hands coming up to press into his cheeks. She stroked at a stray tear with her thumb, both of them beaming brightly.
