"As if millions of voices suddenly cried out...and were suddenly silenced...something terrible has happened." To us all. I was shocked and devastated to hear of the death of Carrie Fisher. Our generation has suffered a tremendous loss. More personal, palpable, and tragic than any of the losses we've suffered thus far this year. She was our Princess. She was our Rebel. She was our Leader. She was our General. She was our heroine. She was our comedienne. She was our role model. She was our first crush. She was our first love. She was beauty. She was power. She was hope. She was part of a larger galaxy and Force beyond those we could even see or feel. She inspired us. She excited us. She fueled our imaginations. She made us laugh. She made us cheer. She made us dream. Her voice was heard and felt in hundreds of films without us even realizing it. Her bravery in her own fight against demons we ALL struggle with was incredible and admirable. Her strength in her lifetime struggle was epic. Her talent was more powerful than most can ever hope for themselves. Her lineage and legacy were legendary. And now...she's gone. And we mourn. We cry. We hurt. But she left us with SO much to remember her by. TO cherish. To celebrate. To admire. To love. So cry your tears...feel the pain...embrace the loss. Mourn on behalf of her family and dearest friends. But remember her how she probably wanted to be remembered. Don't pity her. Celebrate her. Admire her. Worship her. After all...she was OUR Princess.
