for the sake of her family as well as herself she had to disappear

the funeral was a cover

after samaritan has been defeated she comes back

the team is cornered or john’s in danger and everything looks hopeless

a mysterious figure comes out of nowhere and saves their asses

“you thought i’d let you save the world all by yourselves?”

everyone cries

especially john

carter can’t stop laughing bc john’s a cop now

“john, this is the worst incident report i’ve ever seen. and fusco used to be my partner.”

john pouts. he’s trying his best.

shaw leaps over fusco to hug carter first

root and carter silently appraise each other.

“you’re pretty good with two guns.”

“i know.”

root adds: “i’ve heard the stories. She’s let me see a few of them on Her feeds. it’s good to have you back."

carter nods slowly. she can’t keep up with these AI shenanigans. she’s misses the good old days when it was just people killing people.

"and....who are you supposed to be, exactly?”

shaw stalks over, grabs root’s hand and drags her off

if there’s one person root isn’t going to embarrass her in front of it’s carter

over her shoulder root says: "i’m shaw’s girl, i’m sure introductions will be made later. but i think she’s dragging me off to have “we just saved the world and defeated the evil AI” sex.“

"Well there isn’t much to say about him. I like him, a lot. Most of the people here don’t like him, but he does have a really kind heart. He treats me right, even if this whole this is going pretty slow. But what can you expect? This is a whole new ball park for him, and he’s still trying to get over the whole thing. I don’t know what’s harder on him, me being male or the worrying that everyone will found out about what, and what will happen if they do. Not everyone here would be all too accepting of us, if anyone would, and that would be hard on him. It’s hard to lead a group if they have no respect for you."
