Baby trying to eat some foliage :)
My guinea pig, Bear, is so polite, when he wants putting back he just nibbles my shirt :)
Really excited because I'm transferring my guinea pig to the outdoor hutch tomorrow I would have done it today but I used up all the woodshavings on the rabbits hutch today. So I'm just going to get some more in town tomorrow when I go out with my brother. I'm proud of her journey this year This time last year she was little and thin from stress because she was being bullied by the group of guinea pigs she was living with She got really underweight and stressed and it was affecting her health But she's healthy now and can start the transfer to her new hutch outdoors She's next to the other guinea pigs so she can see them and smell them and socialise with them but she should feel safer in her own space where they can't attack her all the time The plan for the future is to find her a friend/mate who neutered but all in good time It'll be a little harder then normal because she's so scared of other guinea pigs, I think it's from being breed by a neglectful breeder who housed her with lots of other guinea pigs. During the winter they'll all be inside in a C&C cage with a seperate area for her so she can see them and socialise but be safe from attacks. I know people always say guinea pigs need to be in groups but the way my group was attacking her, she lost weight, she wasn't allowed to eat or sleep in peace and it got to the point where she was so stressed she was thin and they had attacked her a lot I didn't want them to draw blood. Now I've seperated her from them, she's happier, and they don't attack the new lowest ranking in the group the way they were attacking her, so I think the groups better off and so is she, But here we are I hope in the next 6 months we can find her a friend with whom she'll feel safe and happy. I think I'll go to a rescue I trust to get her a friend, the rescue I got the neutered male of the group from was very helpful, they let me bring up my guinea pigs and they spend the day finding the perfect guinea pig and they had time to test different guineas out and they really knew the animals they had in the rescue at the time to find one who would fit into the group at the time. I can't wait to see what the future bring for my little one. I've seen her grow from this experience from a thin, scared little thing to a happy, healthy guinea pig. I can't wait to see what willl happen in her future...
