Hi hello I have questions. Is there a person in your field/the field you’re going into that you hate? and like have so much beef with? can be dead or alive, you cna wnat them dead or alive. If so. Tell me about them rant about them I wanna hear it. If anyone was curious about mine (no one is. I just wanna rant about him.) mine is Heinrich Schliemann. For one of my majors I have to do a capstone project and am literally chosing to do an analysis of the archaeologic site of troy. so i can rant about this man. anyway onto my reasoning for his hatred! he wwnt in deciding the site was troy!! you dont go in decded on what a site it! he used dynaminte! as! an! axcavation! tool! he destoryed like seven layers of other civilizations ot get to the one he thought was the city of troy specfically where the trojan war occured! in my personal opinion he is hte reason! we will never know if the trojan war actually happened or not! because! he destroyed os many layers and didnt document things and ughhhhhhhhh!!!! he deicded layter II (2) was troy! so he destoryd everything he didnt think was relevant! and did not document or study it! to get otwhat he believed was relevant!!!! also fun fact! we now know that troy II is 1000 years too old to have the homeric troy! anyway i am fighing this man in death (i will be joined by one of my friends who also hates him!) and we shall beat his ass so bad!!!!!! oh and also! he essentially. so much shit idc if he had permsission for the excavation or not!!!!!! he found gold nad went oh thats priams gold! found jewelry/a headress and went yep instead of giving this to the rightful people i am going to give it to my wife!
Oh my other like number one opp is Lord Elgin! who was told fine sure you can excavate/study but cannot harm anything. he then preceeded ot hack stuff off of buildings nad give everything ot the fucking british musem! and he is the reason that not all of the caryatids are togehter! instead. one is shoved in a random fucking corner of the british museum instead of with her sisters and when i visited the british museum i didnt even get ot visit her bc the room was closed for rennovations or something. and i am still. mad about it i coudl not pay my repsects to her!!!!!!!!
(if you couldn't tell although I am not planning ot go into classics or classical arhcaeology i know. so much. about it. bc i am in fact also a classics major on top of my archaeology/historic preservation major)
