Reminding myself of all the nightmare king / Cassandra lore and I just realized that Cassandra as the nightmare king was banished, likely to the astral plane, for centuries. Kalvaxis was the one to unbanish her, and Kristen was the one to restore her. Cassandra likely has a lot of struggles from having been banished from the mortal plane for so long, and she was unworshiped for even longer before, and so that makes Kristen literally the one ray of light in Cassandra’s dark, nightmare Forrest. (It’s not a coincidence helio was in Kristen’s story. Kristen does wield light and day / dawn, just not as helio or sol say, but instead in her own way.) And what’s interesting is that Cassandra’s number one cleric has one specific spell that is her standout spell and she is widely known for using:
Banishment
There are no coincidences when it comes to the gods, I believe. Kristen was foretold. A prominent point in cassandra’s story being that she was banished and Kristen her number one cleric having her number 1 spell be banishment and the one to free her is no coincidence. And it in fact continues to show the great balance Kristen and Cassandra have when they are at their peak teamwork. Duel wielding, banishment used for cruelty and banishment used for good. Duel wielding, doubt and fear and embracing the unknown. Kristen and Cassandra are two sides of the one same coin. I love Kristen and Cassandra so much.
