A Friendly Competition

Cas approached the door in a rather casual fashion, her armor clattering softly with each step.  Upon coming within half a meter of it, she reached out to press the buzzer, hoping her friend was home.  She wondered how she was doing, but pushed it aside as her usual cheerful grin appeared.

Day 4:  Mind Matters

Briefly describe your OC’s mental state. Are they neurotypical or neuroatypical? Do they have any mental illnesses or a history with mental illness? How do they handle stress? Are they Force-sensitive or Force-blind? Does this effect their mental state?

“My psychological state?  I guess you could say that it logically depends on the day and situation I am in, for the most part, like with any other person you meet.  I experience happiness and sadness and anger like everyone else, though I will admit that I am not fond of feeling the latter one bit.  Just thinking about the damage I could do in a fit of rage... it frightens me...”

“In short, I just want to be happy, and I want everyone else around me to be able to share in that joy alongside me.  Yes, there may be bad times, but that doesn’t mean you can’t approach them with a positive attitude and a skip in your step.”

“Am I neurotypical or not?  Huh... hadn’t really considered that at all, truth be told.  I’ll have to figure that out one of these days, mostly because I am not a licensed psychologist.”

“Mental Illness?  This... this is an uncomfortable subject for me... can we please move on?  No...?  Fine... long story short, I... saw some things that haunt me some time ago.  Things that no living being, not even the Emperor himself, should ever see in their lives.  Makes it difficult to sleep and feel safe sometimes, but I do my best to try and move forward, no matter what horrors assail me or my friends.  I would do anything in order to keep what hurt me and my friends from ever doing the same to another.”

“When it comes to stressful situations, I usually try to find a way to resolve the situation as best I can.  Barring that, I face the situation head on with a positive attitude and a can-do spirit.”

“If you are going to ask whether I am Force-sensitive, then I will answer in advance for you:  Hell yeah, I am!  It’s... it’s amazing!  Sure people go on about the immense power one can wield with it, being able to safely use a lightsaber as a result of the training one gets as a Jedi, but it’s the perspective it brings you that seals the deal.  Through the Force, I can see and feel how connected all living things are to one another, how we affect others by our actions even if we’re light-years apart.  It’s another reason I try to resolve things peacefully:  I want everyone to be a part of that connection, to realize that we are all brothers and sisters in the grand scheme of things and embrace one another as such.”

Day 3:  Species and Demonym

Talk about your OC’s species and demonym. A demonym is the name for an inhabitant of a specific place, in this case their planet of birth, such as Tarisian (from Taris) or Mantellian (from Ord Mantell). How do they define their demonym? Do they have one? What influence does it have on their identity? Do they feel a sense of connection to their planet of birth? Does the planet’s history and society effect them? Do they follow any traditions or holidays from their home planet

“You want to know about where I’m from?  Of what world I identify as or was born on?  Huh... sounds fair.  While my species is native to Korriban, the past couple generations of my family, myself included, could consider ourselves Kaasian.  Hell, I was born on Dromund Kaas, so I suppose that makes sense.  But with my family having defected to the Republic when I was a girl, I guess I could call myself Coruscanti.”

“All in all, though, I don’t really think it matters where I came from.  I barely remember the estate my family had lived in on Kaas, and spent most of my formative years on Coruscant, and even then I consider the entire galaxy to be my home.  It really shouldn’t matter what world one is from, so long as they try to make the galaxy a better place for their communities and families.”

“Was... was that a bit too preachy?  Sorry... I am told that I can get a bit overly idealistic from time to time...”

“Regardless, I like to think that home is wherever you feel the safest, whether that is a ship, or a homestead, or the company of friends and family.  It matters not to me, so long as one has a safe place to lay down and enjoy life.”

“My species?  Of course I have a sense of connection to the rest of the Sith race.  I just wish that we could appeal to more in the hopes of turning them away from darkness and corruption, to bring them back to a relatively noble path, especially having spent the majority of my childhood among my family, all of whom are Purebloods themselves.  That said, I like to think House Thaerin has flourished in the Republic’s cosmopolitan environment.  More races means new cultures and friends to encounter, after all!”

Day 2 of 30:  Physical Status

Briefly describe your character’s physical appearance. Are they able-bodied or disabled? Are they comfortable with their looks/body, or did they wish their body was different? Do they have any significant scars? How fit are they?

Casarai is... built, to say the least.  Standing at two meters (roughly six feet and seven inches) in height, she (like many members of her family) is much taller than the average humanoid species, leading some to half-jokingly suggest that her family bloodline may have a bit of Massassi in it.  Due to a combination of genetics and many years of proper exercise, Cas is very well-developed in terms of physical strength and flexibility, which comes in handy for manual labor, training, or combat, though she makes every effort to try and prevent or minimize the latter.

Like many members of her species, Casarai has red skin, crimson eyes, and jet-black hair.  The bony ridges and facial spurs common to many of the Sith race, while present, seem to be a tad bit sharper at least in terms of appearance, fueling further speculation of Massassi heritage.  Due to the risks involved with her time as a Jedi, she has received more than a few scars over the years, most notable of which is one up and across her back, and one over her right eye.

Kindhearted to a fault, generous, fun-loving, and perhaps more than a little predisposed to optimistic naïveté from time to time.  She is always eager to help others, even if there is no benefit to herself, and prefers to solve things peacefully as much as she can.

Insanity Abound

Casarai stepped into the home of her newfound friend, Rhastazi, whistling cheerfully.  With nary a care in the world, she hung her silver-grey scarf on the coat hanger, still clad in her well-cared for armor.

“What a day,” she said as she looked around, “At least it was productive.”  She looked down some of the hallways.  “Hello?  Anyone home?  Rhastazi?  Miss Rei’ki?”

Her curiosity growing, she went down the closest hall as she called out to anyone who may have been in the building.
