it isn’t often that he gets to visit the gym leaders back in kanto, not when he’s traveling the world so much. there are many pokemon out there for him to see --------- almost too many, and he can’t possibly have all the time to research on each one of them. but kanto is his HOME, the one place he can visit over and over to rid himself of the homesickness.
there’s one gym leader in particular that he wants to check up on today. he often calls her MERMAID, if he’s in a good mood, or QWILFISH, if he’s looking to annoy her. unfortunately, right now, he has this massive urge to annoy her.
❝ hey, QWILFISH, you’ll get a stroke swimming under this heat, ❞ he snickers out, once he’s reached the edge of the pool, careful not to accidentally slide into the water. he’s too lazy to change clothes, and being soaked isn’t exactly under his agenda right now. ❝ have some water before you faint, little mermaid, or you’re going to leave me worried. ❞
with a grin, he hands her a bottle of water he bought before he arrived at the gym. ❝ how’s life treating ya, misty ? good, i hope. are you taking a vacation every now and then ? you look a little stressed. are those WRINKLES i see ? ❞
