WATCH: Third Man Records Releases Teaser Video For New Vinyl Pressing Plant
As we mentioned recently on a previous podcast, Jack White's Third Man Records is poised to open a brand new vinyl pressing facility in downtown Detroit. Based on the small bits of info contained in the minute long video, the plant will be located in the Cass Corridor building where the label's large retail shop is located.
For vinyl fans, this is exciting news. Audiophiles are well aware that pressing plants are in short supply these days and many are running around the clock to meet demand. All of that said, the Third Man promo clip does leave a bit of a bad taste in the mouth. A title card proclaims that Third Man is the "label that made vinyl important again". And, as if that weren't enough, they have pledged that the facility will be "the most incredible vinyl pressing plant in the world." Yes, this is exciting news, it's just too bad that Third Man have gone a bit heavy handed wit this one. Let's hope it lives up to its' billing.
