Jesus did not just appear to be a human being, like He was a hologram; He was actually born of a woman, had flesh, and died. We believe that he had a human nature and a human will, and that these things were not just discarded at His death and Resurrection, but have been permanently grafted to God Himself in heaven. The second Person of the Trinity did not just become human for a few years and go back to heaven, but became a human being and is still a human being.

Think about that for a second; humanity (a physical, temporary, dependent entity) was permanently transformed to embody and reveal the Presence of God. Human flesh wasn't just a symbol of God, it didn't just point beyond itself to God, it was the actual bearer of God within itself.

How would I describe God? Well, others would tell you that it’s tough. God is an everchanging being, benevolent and wise. He is all loving and all-seeing. Selfless and ancient. But the simple fact is, others are wrong. God is painfully unchanging, and God is spiteful. God is ignorant and God is hateful. But most important of all, God isn’t a He. God is a She.

Robin is a tragedy. No matter what she does, everyone she loves dies. Over and over and over. It's not like she doesn't know she's killing them. But that doesn't stop her from trying to stop it. All she wants is someone to love her and not kill themselves. Is that really so hard?

Casey's been around a while, and they can tell chaos when they see it. And Robin's a doozy. So why not tag along and help them create chaos in a more... manageable way? Or die spectacular exploding deaths if not, Casey doesn't mind. After all, who wouldn't want to be the love of God's life?

Owen's life sucks, and it's all her fault. She gave him everything that his parents hate him for. He's got no home, he's got no family, he's got nothing to lose. Now he's on his way to kill God.

We defeat our enemy by making them our friends [... W]e need to heal our enemies. We need to find what it is about them that they hope and fear, why it is that they are our enemies in the first place; we must work tirelessly to break the chains that bind them. Jesus did not come for the saints, but to free sinners, to heal and reconcile those who were enemies of God. For Catholics, the Church itself is the embodiment of God, and the means by which the world experiences His grace. Again, it is not just that the Church points to Jesus, or offers a temporary instrument to facilitate an encounter with God, it is that when we encounter the Church, we encounter Jesus; because Jesus is intrinsic to the nature of the Church — you cannot have the Church without also having Jesus. It is for this reason that the Second Vatican Council went as far as to say that the Church is itself "the Sacrament of salvation" [Lumen gentium, §48b] ; that, just as the Eucharist is the Body of Christ, revealing His very Presence, so too is the Church.

While I understand and appreciate why Fr. Casey Cole answered the question "How late is too late to show up to Mass?" with the fact that the entire rite is important and should not be missed, I found it helpful that Lisa Bergman could straight-forwardly say that "we must be present" by the time the Offeratory occurs in order to consider our participation in the Mass to be fulfilling our Sunday obligation.

What I own, what I use, —what I for a brief moment call my own— is not my own; because I am called to own nothing. Saint Francis used to exhort his brothers with a simple phrase, "sine proprio" — without appropriation. We are but pilgrims, poor men, who use what we need to survive but claim nothing as our own. What if, even the things were bought new, we approached as simply items we are borrowing and using? Hawthorne:

He's kind of (?) the main guy. This is the sad wet cat of a man. He's just not happy. How else to describe him.... oh, he gets in the middle of a decades long fight between a 50 year old man and a teenaged god. So that's fun. (I call him H sometimes, so if you see that, that's who I'm talking about). He's aroace, he's traumatized, what more could you want?

Theo:

H's best friend. He has MAJOR repressive issues. Is able and willing to fight you, so don't mess around. He has beef with Iona.

Iona:

Inserted herself into H and Theo's lives after she saw them being idiots and decided someone should probably stop them. She can never do anything wrong ever (she's lying she is wrong a lot) (she won't tell you that though, even if you've proven it). Theo has beef with her, but she's just having fun annoying him. She's an aroallo lesbian.

Cody:

You know that guy who covers pain with laughter? That's this guy. He's a mind reader, he's blind, he lives every day in the traumatized brains of H and Theo. (He's just straight up not having a good time /ref). When will Cody show up? No-body knows...

Robin:

Casey:

For the purposes of not spoiling anything, they're known for being slightly insane and also giving scarily accurate predictions about things.

Owen:

Doesn't feature a whole lot in WCHIAWTO, other than that time he tried to kill a certain someone... :} He's trans, he hates his life, but don't worry, he has a happy ending... eventually >:)
