ESI Design is an innovation and experience design firm that transformed the lobby of Terrell Place in Washington, DC. Using 1,700-square-feet of motion-activated LED wall displays. The installation creates an ever-evolving piece of artwork that captures the pulse of the building as people come and go. The displays include different modes – ‘Seasons,’ ‘Color Play,’ and ‘Cityscape’ – offering a selection of scenes that can be programmed with varying durations and sequences, ensuring that tenants never see the same scene even if they arrive and leave at the same time every day.

Abandoned Photography of Christian Richter

Christian Richter is a photographer from East Germany who captures abandoned buildings throughout Europe. Many of the locations are from when the Berlin Wall came down—buildings that are crumbling and beginning to overgrow.

I have always had a fascination with ruins and nature reclaiming man-made spaces and Christian’s work definitely highlights the beauty in that juxtaposition.

FORMS IN NATURE: Understanding Our Universe An audiovisual collaboration by Kevin Dart, Stéphane Coëdel, David Kamp, and Nelson Boles.

I’ve been a long-time fan of Kevin Dart’s work. It’s beautifully geometric with pleasing shapes, form and composition. His collaboration in making Forms in Nature showcases his illustration style, drawing inspiration from Cincinnati-based American Modernist, Charlie Harper.
