Dear Future Me,
I’m not there yet. I’ve been trying my best to be you, but it seems all I’ve ever accomplished is just continuing to be me. I think maybe you’re changing locations, that you’re not at the place where I originally thought I would find you. So I set a new location, a spot where I’m sure you’ll be at. But once I catch up, all out of breath and ready to relax, it seems you’re still not there, and I’m still not you. And you’re still not me. Sometimes I wonder if you’re doing this on purpose, if you’re playing some sadistic game of tag, only I’m always it and you simply can’t be caught. I wonder if you have any interest in being me at all. After all, you already know what it was like and for some reason you chose to move on. I’ll know what you know, some day, but I’ll be a better Future Me and you could ever have been. For starters, I wont turn away.
