The Cashlings are a race of living gold coins, who have developed incredible security measures so that they don't get kidnapped and used in vending machines. Cashling banks are considered the most secure in the galaxy. If you need something locked away in a place nobody will ever get it, a Cashling bank is your best bet.

Just one method of security they have is the use of Guard Hogs - ceramic pigs that will growl and charge at intruders, hoping to gore them with their tusks.

The $ dollar sign is a symbol of protection within Cashling culture, they so they attach it to things meant to protect, such as bank vaults and guard hogs. Some even put it on the undersides of their shoes, so that it gets left behind on their footprints, to protect them from bad folks who might otherwise track them down by following their trail.

One quirk of Cashling society is that every Cashling is named "Cashling". If there is a crowd of Cashlings and you only want the attention of one, you can simply yell "Hey Cashling!" and the Cashling you were thinking of will respond while the others ignore you.
