THE BLURB YOU REQUESTED
You hated to play The Period Card, so every month you kind of just chose to hoped that you wouldn’t get too shitty with Ashton or, alternatively, that he wouldn’t notice if you did. This particular month was one of the worst yet. You knew your best friend meant well by texting you loads and calling when you didn’t respond and constantly asking you if you wanted to go out and do something - but you had just had enough. You were over it, you couldn’t be bothered doing anything except lying in bed and moping about how much pain you were in and how sad you were feeling and feeling sorry for yourself. So when he knocked on your bedroom door and stuck his head through the small crack, you could only glare in response.
“Hey.” He said quietly and carefully. “Can I come in?”
“I don’t know, can you?” You snapped before huffing and staring back up at the ceiling. You felt the immediate pang of guilt in your chest for treating him this way, but it was a little late for that. Ashton was already sighing and putting his bag on the floor before seating himself down at the foot of your bed. You could feel his gaze on you boring into your soul, almost. It was unnerving. “What’s up?” You asked a little nicer.
“I was just checking in on you,” he confessed. “You seemed really out of it lately.”
“Yeah, well…” You bit your tongue, suppressing the urge to spill every disgusting detail about your Homicidal Uterus. “I’m sorry.” You glanced up at Ashton and surprisingly, the taller boy had a soft, understanding smile on his face.
“It’s okay.” He said with a small chuckle. You were surprised that Ashton wasn’t more uncomfortable about this whole thing. Most of your guy friends hated everything and anything to do with your Time of the Month - or any girl’s, really. Ashton was more understanding than that - more educated, even. “I think I brought something that might make you feel better, though.” He grinned down on you, and you cocked an eyebrow as you turned onto your side so you could curl your knees to your chest.
“Like what?” You asked, a little pout puckering on your bottom lip. Ashton grabbed his bag and you could see the ghost of a devilish smirk twitching on his lips before he unzipped the bag and tipped the entire thing upside down on the space between the two of you on the bed. Chocolates of all kinds spilled out everywhere - M&Ms, snickers, blocks of white chocolate, boxes of Oreos; anything you’d ever pointed out to him in all of the years you’d been friends was sitting there on the bed and you couldn’t help but laugh.
“I also bought a Netflix subscription.” Ashton chuckled as he got up and wandered to your TV and PlayStation. “I’ve got a whole movie marathon planned out.” You sat up, feeling a little bit like you wanted to cry at the gesture. He turned back to you with the same goofy smile he’d always had. “Still love me?” You giggled and nodded, scooting over on the bed to make room for him and picking up the M&Ms first.
“Of course I love you.” You promised him. “What are we watching first?”
