Five Sentence Friday (?)

thank you @davrinsleftpectoral for tagging me <3 (I also wouldn't have known it's Monday today if you didn't mention that in your post)

I recently started reading Song of Achilles, which got me inspired to write in Past Tense, and also started re-playing DAI, which got me inspired to think about my fem!Lavellan and Cassandra.

This is *very* pre-relationship, still Heaven era. In my mind's palace, Cassandra is a certified yearner and piner from basically day one <3

Cassandra struggled to describe the Herald in ways that would make sense, though struggling with words was nothing new to her. Prisoner was an easy word that allowed for a straightforward treatment. Prisoners were to be watched, interrogated and judged, while their incarceration had causes and end points. With a Herald, there was no cause, beginning, or end, or clear ways of handling. There was no other like her in the world — at least, not in the living one — which brought Cassandra in equal awe and stupor. Curiosity bred rapidly where none should be; she found herself wanting to know everything, with little knowledge as to how she was supposed to form those questions.

OC Ship Charts (oops all yuri!!!)

thank you @rooks-dagger for tagging me <3 I did one for lucanisara back in the day (you can find it at the bottom of ghilasara's masterpost), so I thought I should do my yuri ships this time!

these do NOT include songs (mostly) because I don't have any playlists for them and I feel like if I tried to find anything suitable it would put the charts' completion by 1000 years. so it is what it is!! (if anyone has any ideas for songs for my ships, do share, though) I also didn't grade anyone's appearance since I'm not comfortable doing that #mypeace

small note: for these, I interptested "teased the most" as *who* gets to teased the most. so the markings in the chart mean Ghilasara teases Bellara the most, and so on.

Bellara/Ghilasara:

it's actually incredibly ironic, how despite Ghilasara living the shortest (only 11 years post-canon), they are still technically my happiest oc/canon couple. they just literally love each other so much it happens to outweight everything. built different and all that

Ghilasara is a big fan of undoing Bellara's bun, even if she doesn't like when people touch her own hair unprompted #herdoublestandards

there are actually two silver halla hairpins - the first one broke at Tearstone Island. Ghilasara didn't want to replace it out of weird sentimentality (a lot of things went wrong on the island, so she thinks of the hairpin breaking as just another thing she's lost there), but Bellara gets her a new one since she is Not up for Ghilasara's moping and wallowing

Neve/Jackdaw:

I am NOT deciding who has the worst fashion sense. both of them are serving cunt at all time.

the thesis of these two is really "what someone with a tendency for codependency fell in love with someone with a tendency for avoidance". that's like cola and menthos to me. another idea was to explore what remains when the novelty of being in love wears off and you have to face less idealised versions of each other

and facing those doesn't go too well post-canon :] jackdaw leaves her whole life behind to be with Neve (along with leaving a giant corpse trail in her wake), which jump starts Neve's fight-or-flight reflex, since she isn't sure she's ready for that kind of commitment. and jackdaw just doesn't envision a relationship without that kind of commitment. do you see the appeal of the dumpster fire yet

re: the pillow. I'm not sure where I first heard that idea, but I have a headcanon that qunari in Par Vollen have special pillows for sleeping face down more comfortably (which is kind of like the pillow you see in the chart). Jackdaw wouldn't know about them, since she grew up with humans and stayed away from other qunari in general, but neve *would* hear about the pillows from taash and decide those are a nice gift 😌(those are a *really* nice gift and jack is extremely touhed by the care)

Neve's tattoo idea comes from the Neve's Snake Tattoos mod by ilikedetectives, and the process of applying it was as lesboerotic as you can possible imagine

I do imagine them working out in the end!! it just won't be a very easy road to get there

Cassandra/Tathasvel:

nevedaw is a dumpster fire and cassavel is THE dumpster fire. thedas's worst divorce, and we are talking the same worldstate as ghilasara

the thesis for this one is sexualising the absolute hell of tathasvel's role as the hearld and cassandra's devotion to the andraste and her herald by extension. you can imagine how well it works out for them as they progressively find out there was no andraste in the fade, that the mark came from Solas and maybe the Maker isn't real at all

cassandra comes to like tath's tea quite a lot to the point she drinks it every day during DAI, so no longer getting her special herbal beverage treatment is a difficult part of her post-breakup adjusment. she never finishes the last few grams she has of that blend, keeping it locked away in a box

tathasvel finds cass's scar hot because it's like the living proof cassandra is strong enough to survive whatever tried to get at her. do not ask her to apply the same logic to her own scars though

examining this interaction under a microscope:

・another beautiful case of "Cassandra Slightly Approves" accompanied by Cassandra pretending she is not enjoying this at all and Can You Please Stop :\

・obsessed with the way the inquisitor says the first line. it's meant to be playful, considering the context, but it also gives off such intense sincerity it makes me weak

・she can't just say "I preferred you in the stocks" and expect me to be normal about it. developing more kink ideas for cass/inq by the day

back to thinking about cassandra x inquisitor, and the first time they touch *after* Inky is relieved from the prisoner status is during this awkawrd handshake after declaring the founding of the new inquisition. like to think that cassandra is not super normal about it when she looks back on it later
