Cassandra/Ezekiel in The Librarians 3.06 "And the Trial of the Triangle"
I have been patiently awaiting the magic door fic for so long, it's so exciting to hear you're working on it
yes! you have!! i'm also really excited about it :D i'm getting a little bit in-my-head about the really emotionally delicate parts of it, but i just have to like. power through and get SOMETHING on paper so i can then edit it to be a little less horrifically out of character, y'know?
here's a bit from one of my favorite parts so far:
“Yeah, yeah.” He waves a hand, trying to keep his tone light. “It’s the need to stay on our feet. You... we both know we’re going to need to leave things behind, and we want to make that easier.”
“Always planning your escape route, huh?” she says.
He lets her ignore the comment about herself. The door’s motion is slowly starting to change directions. “Something like that. Did you know, before the Library, I’d left behind everything I owned seven times?”
She outright giggles this time. “Wow, some ‘greatest thief in the world’. You got caught seven times?”
“I escaped a very tight leash seven times,” he corrects. He’s getting a little heated about his thief skills, but that’s expected. “Most people don’t have seven encounters like that because they get caught on the second or third. But that was one of the things that made me the best. I’ve always been so good at leaving everything behind.”
“Wow, great flex,” says Cassandra. Teasing.
“You’re the same way,” he says, quieter. “Or at least, it’s what you’re working on doing. I don’t think you’re as unattached as you say you are, Cassie.”
I’m rewatching The Librarians for the first time since the show ended, and while first watch I was a hardcore Jassandra shipper, I’m way more into Cassekiel (and I’m only on episode 2).
Ezekiel is a thief, who we later find out was also a foster kid. He doesn’t trust anyone, really, and he generally doesn’t seem too keen on being touched. Yet who does he let drag him around repeatedly? Cassandra. Who does he let grab him by the arm or shoulder when she’s excited or has a realization or to silently warn him? Cassandra. And who does he reach his hand out to? Cassandra.
Ezekiel Jones doesn’t trust anyone, but he trusts the soft math girl with the brain grape; not only that, but he tells her to trust him, that he’ll take care of her (in the Labyrinth).
Season 4
So I'm only on episode 3 and here is my summary so far.
With every passing episode Jacob Stone turns more and more into Eliot Spencer.
Cassandra is legit the best.
Flynn doesn't deserve the angst
My son Ezekiel Jones pulled an Asian Parker and I'm so proud.
My son Ezekiel Jones is purer than I ever imagined and he must be protected.
The shipping feels are killing me.
*in the kitchen*
Jake: Pass me the pan.
Ezekiel: *takes Cassie in his arms*
Jake: Put down Cassie!
