this is out of the blue (apologies!) but i'm rewatching this is us and you are so right about kevin and cassidy. you can definitely tell the writers planned for them to be together and then changed their minds for who knows what reason. they should have just followed through with it!

I will say re season 4 finale...they might have gone overboard with the twists and adding extra future characters that will never see again? I mean why were we focusing on the doctor's BACKSTORY so much...I mean..

But my favourite is the Madison reveal and it was pretty awesome even if initially...I WAS LIKE WHAAAAAAAAAAAT (cause I was in denial of Cassidy being endgame for Kevin)
Also yes Jennifer Morrison's arc on This Is Us. She was phenomenal(not just saying that cause of my Emma Swan love)...I would have loved some award nods for her but anyways....
also I am still convinced ZOEy was the best romantic partner for Kevin, but for a while I rooted for Cassidy Sharp potentially for Kevin....but on the rewatch I see...that's not what they were. Me trying to want to ship them was where definitely my JENNIFER MORRISON BIAS was kicking in :L but anyways ;)
It literally pisses me off so much bc how are you going to explain Kevin's episode in the last big three trilogy being completely about Cassidy if they weren't planning on them ending up together. But then they were like ohhh nooo they figured it out it was supposed to be a surprise!!! Dude when your audience puts the pieces together it's because you did the foreshadowing right. We are in the middle of the last season it's ok if they figure it out
The Guitar Man is probably my favorite episode of This Is Us but only if I ignore the entire rest of the season

IF KEVIN WASN'T SUPPOSED TO MARRY CASSIDY THEN HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN EVERYTHING IN THE GUITAR MAN HUH??????? THEY CHANGED IT TO SOPHIE LAST MINUTE BC THEY WANTED TO BE "UNPREDICTABLE" AND PLEASE THE "MASSES"
