There's nothing more disappointing than something naturally coming together to be such a beautiful story only for it all to be thrown away.

What's the point of having two characters parallel one another from the beginning? What's the point of them spending a full season together, only to split them up and still give hope that ultimately amounts to nothing?

What's the point of giving characters these big backstories if you're never going to explore them? Only to stick her with some random guy that goes entirely against the way she has been developed in the past.

I'll never understand how a writer can get so lucky as to have two actors with incredible chemistry, playing two characters that slowly become the perfect match over the course of five+ seasons only to say nope! That never meant anything and never will.

Make it make sense.

I'm sorry but I think Kevin should have ended up with Madison. Sure they don't have the epic romance/destiny vibe that Kevin and Sophie have but that's what I like about them. Kevin and Madison were not supposed to happen. She was a girl he slept with randomly one time. But they grew on each other. They grew together. They started a family. Kevin and Madison are messy. And interesting. And real. It would have been a great contrast to Randall and Beth's relationship. Or Jack and Rebecca's. I would have loved for Kevin's story to say 'Hey, not everyone ends up with their first love. Sometimes love happens by accident. And it's just as beautiful.'

definitely still have a this is us finale hangover. love the show and how they wrapped things up. how simple yet striking the final ep was but NO ONE would ever convince me that kevin and sophie is the right choice.

some says that kevin's character development would have been pointless if it wasn't sophie but let me just say that change should ALWAYS and ultimately be driven by our want to be better individuals for ourselves first. kev is one of my fave characters and i think part of why im really disappointed is how they made it look like he's not capable of change if not for sophie.

the writers obviously didn't want to let go of a story line they had years ago even if the whole story now suggests otherwise. sad and annoyed by how they gave kevin lots of moments thinking and really wishing for a complete family (his ultimate dream) only to not give it to him. that hurts.

i love the show so much but they wasted a lot of gold on that part.
