As I was watching the grand finale of Cassini and listening to the mission team talk about the accomplishments of the mission, I learned a little bit about propellors. Not your typical airplane propellor, but the name used to describe this fascinating feature in Saturn’s rings.

Free Falling Divisions
Giovanni Domenico Cassini born today, June 8th, in 1625. Also known as Jean-Dominique Cassini when he was in residence at the Paris Observatory where he discovered the feature to be known as The Cassini Division.
