Anxiety swelled in his chest once a sleek black car rolled up, his mind replaying the events of the last time they'd saw each other over and over again -- the secret that Cassio had let slip, the raw words that Tommy had tossed his way. These past couple of weeks had been torture, torn between being angry with his boyfriend and the dealing with the ache in his chest that he felt from being apart from him. Was it possible to still care for someone you weren't sure you'd be able to forgive? To stay by their side even as the pain persisted, even when they attempted to remove the knife that they'd previously twisted into your back? Tommy wasn't quite sure, didn't know if he'd ever be, but one thing he did know was this; Cassio had been betrayed by the very same people that had sworn to protect him, by his very own flesh and blood, and had no one to turn to. Tommy understood how that felt.
His heart was beating about a mile a minute as he slid into the backseat, shutting the door once inside. The air around him shifted, silence loud and imposing as the outside world went dark, and it was only after a few moments of that quiet that he looked up, finally meeting his boyfriend's gaze. "Hi." He greeted, suddenly unsure of what to do with his hands. Was he supposed to reach out and touch him? Hug him, kiss him, like nothing had happened? Like nothing was wrong? Instead, Tommy stayed glued to his seat, palms rubbing anxiously against the ludicrously expensive jeans that had been purchased by the man across from him. "I, uh --" the Outlaw cleared his throat, giving a slight shake of his head. "-- I don't know why, but, I kept thinkin' -- kept wondering if you were gonna change your mind and not show." Tommy let out a soft chuckle, devoid of any humor, eyes averting down to his lap before adding, "There's been a couple'a times over the last few months where I've asked myself if you're even real. Or, like, if I've just been...dreaming or somethin'."
