Wandering in the forest of twilight || Closed rp with twilaofthenight
Cassius let out a small sigh, his crimson orbs adjusting in the low light of the forest he traversed. It was almost sunset, the sky slowly darkening as orange faded into black. Purple and violet hues mixed with each other in an interesting fashion, making the assassin look upwards. Feet came to a sudden halt as Cassius tilted his head, watching the view from under his hat quietly. His hand rested on the hilt of his sword, which was secured to the side of his hip in case any danger decided to show itself.
He had been sent on a mission, nothing too difficult. It was just a usual thing at this point, travelling the land in search of Moonblood camps that hid in the groves of Falana. He never found much however, as guesswork wasn't exactly his strong suit.
He did however, find this forest, one he didn't recognize in the slightest. It was... Interesting, to say the least. The atmosphere felt... Off, and he was always on edge. Perhaps it was just the darkness playing tricks with his eyes, but he didn't feel like he was entirely safe. Though, he didn't feel like he was in much danger either... It was odd.
After staring at the sky for a moment, his attention was brought back to his walk. He should stay focused...
Hopefully, he wouldn't have to use his sword anytime soon.
*Gives you a cupcake* Your awesome okay bye now *leaves*
He stares suspiciously at the cupcake before questioning what even happened.
Losing oneself [Future drabble]
Either way he gave them to you, not taking no for an answer. These stones would serve to be a huge stress relief, and allow you to get closer to the one you would later hurt.
You gave one stone to her, making her promise to keep it on her at all times. You decided to keep one for yourself, because you could never be too careful. These stones would revive the user from the nothingness of death, bringing their soul back from the life thread.
You thought this would act as a safety net, protect the one you cared for but… Your cruel past had a way of taking any happiness you hoped to achieve.
It was an assassin that took her, one that had taunted you ever since you joined the royal assassins. He took her, and no stone stopped that.
You spiralled out of control, grief ripping you to shreds. It was your fault, it was all your fault… Nothing mattered anymore, nothing could hope to keep you sane.
You stopped caring who you killed, it just didn’t matter anymore. You closed yourself off from all contact- save for your general and the little girl with angel wings- and you killed. No one stood in your way and no one dared to even try. You were drowning, the darkness that was once hidden resurfacing and taking hold. It clouded your vision, no longer letting you take pity for those who met the end of your blade. Your general comforted you but never stopped you. He couldn’t bring himself to slay you, no matter what you were doing. You were the son he never had, he didn’t want to hurt you.
The little girl also attempted to help, staying with you despite the crippling darkness that engulfed you. She might not have fully understood why you were so far gone but, she prevented you from simply giving up. Her innocence, the fact that she was always there and could not perish helped you greatly. She was a variable that could not change, she was stable. Both her and your general kept you somewhat sane, but even they could not stop the unstoppable.
You burned down a village, killing everyone . It was orders from the king, you didn’t question it. You didn’t care that there was blood staining your short fur, you didn’t care that you left a crimson trail wherever you went, you didn’t care that it stained the newly fallen snow...
You finally matched that little title of yours, you were a demon. A demon that was slain by an innocent boy, who’s family you had taken right before his eyes.
You were finally getting what you deserved, death by someone who you deemed weak…
Vengeance was your motivator, as was your destroyer.

Cassius sighed, leaning under a tree nonchalantly. He finished one of his missions, so he had time to take a short break. Though, even on break the assassin was cautious, keeping his sword next to him and choosing to rest under a tree. He had heard rumours of some kind of monster coming down from the sky to kill many soldiers... And considering exactly what he had heard, he couldn't help but wonder if it was true.
He paused his thoughts for a moment, ears picking up on a sudden... Sound? Was it just the wind picking up or...? He glanced upwards, crimson eyes catching what seemed to be a large bird. Was that the monster people were so scared of?
"... So he was the one who did it? Or... Hm..."

Cai groaned, covering his face with his arms. He was so done, just done with everything. He had a rough day and now he had to deal with Angel bouncing up and down on the edge of his bed? He wasn't sure if he was angry or just annoyed.
Heck, he wasn't sure why he had let this go on for so long. He let out a loud huff before hitting her side with his tail.
"That's enough for today, I'm tired and am not willing to deal with this."

It had been a long day, a very long day. Cassius had just finished his daily patrols and was quite tired due to this. Though, since it wasn't very late he had other things to attend to. Those other things being something he wasn't very fond of.
He silently cursed himself as he waited outside of a nearby village. He didn't have patience for this, yet he didn't want to go into the village either. This job was irritating...
What was it he had to do? Find Moonblood sympathizes, or at least find information about their camps. This village was one that the king suspected had Moonblood sympathizers inside, yet they couldn't be sure. So of course Cassius was sent to check it out, they couldn't just attack it after all. He had to gather information from conversations, yet not attract attention to himself. If he went into the village, people's eyes would be drawn to him. They would ask him things and eventually grow suspicious as he didn't understand emotions... Ugh.
"I guess it's a thing we can live with, even if I'm not included in the 'we'" He muttered to himself, letting his hat cover his eyes. He would have to walk into the village at some point...

To be honest, Cassius wasn't one to care. He never did, it just wasn't something he needed to do. He had orders to follow though, people to kill and people to track as well.
He wasn't supposed to be walking home someone who he had just saved from a little accident.
He walked in silence, eyes only aiming straight ahead as the two walked though the forest. He didn't know what to say... Aria had almost fallen off a cliff, and if he wasn't there to grab her... Well that wouldn't be pretty. She was pretty shaken up but he didn't know what to say.
He sighed, glancing at her from under his hat.
"... I'll come with you to the top of the ravine. After that you need to find your home yourself."
