The Helmaroc King tried to snap at the light with his beak. But due to the low light and the fact he had no idea what he was snapping at, he missed, and the strange glowing thing ended up bouncing off his mask after he rammed right into it.
All at once, the light disappeared. That was the last thing the bird was expecting. He banks his wings, scanning the area to try and see if he could pick it out in the darkness. All he needed was a light. All he needed was something to lock on to, something to show him where he was.
It was below him. A spark of light caught his eye, and the massive bird angled his wings and began to descend. He followed the sight of the light down, down- too close to the ground!!
Spreading his wings, the Helmaroc King only had a moment to realize how close he was to the ground. He managed to slow his fall somewhat, but still came down with a loud crash, nearly crushing the light source he’d been following in the first place.
