Twila may not have been able to see his expressions, but it wasn’t too difficult to find out what he was feeling by the scent he was giving off. They were dull and muddled, but showed clear distrust, a little bit of irritation… and some other things she couldn’t identify.
"Perhaps." Twila answered him cryptically, flicking her tail and cocking her head. "I don’t believe you can leave before night falls.” She muttered. “While I do, in fact, know my way around, I don’t believe the village nearby would be a good travel choice, since you’d probably end up dead. They aren’t exactly welcoming to strangers.”
Twila sobered, looking away with distain. “I would know.”
"However," She started again, as if nothing had been said. "You are welcome to stay wherever you please for the night. I can offer you pillows and blankets, even a bed with a long hike, but I’m afraid not much else."
Honestly, he should have expected that a village would not be wise to visit, he was oblivious to this new area after all. He knew nothing, and judging by the fact Twila knew that they were not friendly, his suspicions of her being an outcast seemed to be true. Though, he couldn't help but be caught off guard when she offered to let him stay. Really? She was going to let a random stranger with a weapon stay in her forest? Sure, he saw no point to attack her but she didn't know his true intentions. He could be biding his time to strike.
She was either too trusting, too nice, or she saw a way to benefit from this. It could end badly, but for now it was favourable. She didn't seem to be out to get him, as was with him. He would just have to wait and see the outcome of this whole situation.
"Hm, to be honest I didn't expect you to offer. I don't exactly look like the most trusting person but I think I have to take you up on it. It's getting late after all, and travelling at night isn't the safest thing in the world." His tail flicks, crimson eyes shifting to take in his surroundings. He didn't want to admit it, but he didn't have the best night vision. He could manage of course, but it wasn't a good idea to wander at night.
"I'd rather not put you out too much however, so I'll just rest around here. By morning I should be gone, so you don't have to worry about me overstaying my welcome." He gave a small bow to her, out of respect and out of thanks.

"Unless of course, there’s a buff, black-furred Warmblood waiting to swoop in and save me with an awesome display of fighting skills and swordplay." Coco said in a very serious tone, though the way her tail swished and the corner of her mouth lifted gave away the fact that she was kidding. She stood up after him, putting her hands on the ground to steady herself, and quickly finding out that probably wasn’t a good idea, since one of her wrists was throbbing. Oops.
She dusted herself off, smiling at him brightly. “Well, thank you very much, Cassius. I’m incredibly grateful that you showed up when you did. Or else, well, I wouldn’t be nearly as pretty, I don’t think.” She laughed to herself.
Cassius rolled his eyes at the vixen's response, she definitely didn't know who he was. That was a good thing, favourable even. She was quite amusing too, though that wouldn't sway his decision to leave soon.
"Well I wouldn't count on that happening again, but you are welcome." He glanced around, the mess that the thugs left was as clear as could be. Things were knocked over, splats of blood staining the floor. He hadn't meant for it to be this... Noticeable. He was an assassin, he wasn't supposed to leave a trace. Yet, of course he was unlucky and left this huge mess.
Ah, well it's not like he could help it.
"They sure left a mess... Though I'm sure some soldiers will come and clean this up. After all, those thugs made so much noise and I'm sure those who ran went to get help." He stretches, tail flicking behind him.
"Either way, I should get going. Don't want the blame to be put on me after all."

Twila dropped down from the branch she was on, twisting and landing on her feet with all the grace of a lithe cat. She turned back around… surprisingly short, compared to the assassin. “I suppose that makes a certain amount of sense.” Twila said, nodding. Dust technically was Cassius’s future, so it made sense that the two warmbloods hadn’t interacted much.
"Believe me, it’s quite the tale." Twila said with a knowing smirk. She wasn’t going to tell him what, however. She was far too stubborn for that. "Nothing is too far fetched. Believe what you wish: I’m not saying a word."
His eyes narrowed. Okay, she wasn't going to tell him anything. No hints, nothing to go by. It was either a really big secret, or he hadn't earned her trust yet. Both were understandable, really, though it was a tad annoying that she knew something he didn't. Alas, that wasn't how the world worked. It wasn't like he could know everything anyway, he should just accept it and move on.
Of course, he didn't reveal his emotions, choosing to remain calm and casual. He kept his posture relaxed, though kept the idea in his head that he could be attacked at any moment. While he didn't have his hand on his sword, he knew he could get out of the way of a strike if necessary.
"I understand. Hopefully one day, I'll be able to find out what you know." He rolls his shoulder, tail flicking behind him slowly. This was interesting, this whole confrontation could have ended horribly. Yet whether it being luck or something else, it didn't. That was good, the sun would soon set after all. He didn't want a fight.
"Anyway, I should probably leave as it will get dark soon. I suspect you know your way around, so may I ask where the closest village is?"

As soon as Cai’s hand dropped, she creeped all the way to the end of the branch, as close to him as she could get, swinging upside down and hanging by her knees and hands like a sloth. “Consider yourself forgiven.” She said tilting her head slightly to the left.
"Actually, you probably know him." She said, not seeming to mind the fact that she was upside down at all. "His name is Dust. He’s practically my brother, and he actually spoke quite extensively about you." Her tail flicked. "Though you do look slightly different than I imagined."
Dust... To say the assassin knew him was an overstatement. The cyan fox had helped him out with a troublesome grey-face and a stab wound, but besides that? He knew almost nothing. Well, now he knew that he was close to Twila, but that wasn't much.
Cassius raised a brow, eyeing Twila carefully. So Dust knew more about him than he perviously thought... Perhaps that was why he had saved him from bleeding out?
"I see... I can't say I know much about him however, as we have only met a couple of times. I believe I have overheard some things, but nothing conclusive enough for me to believe in confidently." He was tempted to ask about what Dust had said about him but decided to wait, unsure if that would be pushing the delicate calm of this situation.

Aria gave a soft hum from her kitchen as she prepared some breakfast for herself and her guest. Morning had just came, and her window was open as she left a gentle breeze blow through.
” Mmm…Nice morning. ” was all she said, a yawn escaping her lips. She was tired, though she spent most of the night checking in on her surprise patient as he slept. He was okay for the most part, though she carefully straightened him out when necessary so his wouldn’t hurt his back anymore than it already was. In some ways, she wondered what had happened to cause that bad of a wound. Looking at it last night, whoever had sliced his back up was aiming to do major damage, possibly even death…but either by dumb luck or a miracle Cassius still managed to survive. She sighed to herself, finishing preparing their breakfast before hurrying back to her room to check on him. She slowly opened her door, giving a smile once she realized he was awake. ” Well, Good morning there. ” She laughed, yawning softly as she walked over to her bed. He looked so exhausted, then again he had every right to be. She pulled up her desk chair to the side of her bed, sitting down before examining his face carefully and curiously. ” How are you- well, that’s kind of a pointless question to ask. You probably are in a lot of pain right now…but, I need to check your back. Afterwards though, I’ll bring you some breakfast if you’re hungry. Do you think you can sit up? “
He glanced at her, ear twitching. So she was awake... Okay then. He was still somewhat weary of the mink, unsure of what to make of her. She was helping him... She probably didn't know who he was.
That was for the better, he needed to heal after all.
"Of course I can." He said, shifting his weight so he was sitting up. A sharp pain in his back made him regret moving so suddenly, but it didn't show on his face. Pain was apart of his job after all, though to be honest he hadn't felt like this in awhile. His fellow assassin really did a number on him...
He pushed the thought out of his mind, deciding that it would be better if he didn't dwell on it. Thinking about it wouldn't change what had happened, he was still injured and needed to heal.

Hey, look at that! He actually seemed like he wasn’t going to swing a blade at her. This was obviously a welcome gesture, and Twila’s tail started flicking slowly and methodically. She rested her chin on her hand, a slow smile finding it’s way across her lips. “Similar to the way we are now.” She said with a shrug. “Though I was a much different person back then.” She grinned. “He was wandering, I was watching. Everything else just depended on how he reacted. Now he’s like a brother to me.”
She cocked her head at him. “So I suppose this little encounter depends on you. Are you going to be civil and take your hand away from your sword’s hilt, or is this going to turn real ugly, real fast?” She didn’t say it like a threat. It actually almost sounded like a legitimate question.
He remains silent for a moment, eyes narrowing before his hand dropped to his side. There was no need to cause any trouble, though this encounter was sure... Interesting, to say the least.
"I don't see a point in fighting you, I was the one who came here after all. Though, forgive me for being cautious." He said, glancing around him. From what he could see, she was the only one here. She didn't look like she was looking for a fight either, which was good.
"I can't help but wonder, who was it you met before?"

The man had been standing around for quite some time, now. He had caught a certain young feline's attention when he came up to the village gates, and moreso when he paused for an abnormal amount of time. Sitting quietly just off the path, belongings scattered around him, Welker had been watching intently. Nothing had happened, but in that, he recognized that a lot was going on. Something was on the newcomer's mind.
His attire was rather unsettling. Scratch that. Everything about him was unsettling. Dark clothing, shadowed face, and... were those red eyes he had glimpsed? Yeesh. But for all the foreboding colors, the clothes looked fine. As in, expensive. As in, it took a rich man to get; someone who could pay. And by the looks of it, he might have a job needing doing... Welker bounced up, grimacing as he stumbled slightly in weakness.
"... Something you need, buddy?"
The strangers voice snapped Cassius our of his thoughts. Great... He was spotted. It wasn't like he didn't expect that, as he was dressed in all black but it was unfortunate to be noticed so soon.
"No, I was just thinking." He said, already beginning to walk away from the colourful feline. He didn't want to bother with this, it would only end badly. He would have to think of another way to finish this mission, or just give up on it.

As soon as he saw movement he tensed, but made no move to unsheathe his sword. Not yet… That may escalate things.
When she came into view his ears flicked. She was certainly… Interesting. He had not seen another like her, though her skin did resemble a certain little girl he knew. She had ears and a tail, which would be normal by his standards, this would however? Probably a different story. He couldn’t help but wonder if she was an outcast of some kind, but that was probably stretching things. Angel wasn’t exactly ‘normal’ by any stretch of the imagination, so a comparison wouldn’t be right.
"… Yes, I am a Warmblood. I can’t help but wonder though, what exactly are you and how did you guess?"
Twila noted the tenseness of her new guest, but instead of provoking a defensive reaction, a small smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. She’d always loved the reactions she got when people first saw her. It was one of the small advantages of looking the way she did. Now, his appearance got very little reaction from her, with her being already familiar with the general look of it.
"Thought so. I know a few Warmbloods, actually. One of them is very close to me, in fact." She didn’t specify who, instead continuing on to his next question. "I’m a felinombra. Nothing important and certainly nothing you’ve ever heard of." She shrugged. "The name is Twila." She looked him over once more, seeing what he would do with this new information, lying lazily across the branch on her belly.
A few Warmbloods... One that was close to her... She was leaving out something on purpose, though her reasoning was unknown to him.
He shifted his weight, moving so he was in a less aggressive position. He knew where she was now, so he could react with relative ease. Unless there were others waiting for him, but he found himself doubting that.
"Hm, nice to meet you Twila." He said, tail flicking behind him. He was wondering how exactly to go about this. He didn't want to just leave, but he also didn't want to randomly anger Twila. Then again, she wasn't in a threatening position... Ah, whatever.
"If you don't mind me asking, how did you meet the... Warmblood you are close to?"
