do you have any good ways to explain being nonbinary to super traditional parents?
just explain it in the simplest terms and make sure to explain everything so they're not left too confused.
'non-binary means that although i was born X, i do not identify as male or female. to help me transition you can [discuss new pronouns/name, clothing, haircuts, binding/tucking equipment if you like].'
here is a mega post with tons of resources for coming out a simple step by step guide to coming out a blog about coming out i'm sure you could get some ideas from there
good luck

Do you have any articles for parents to read on nonbinary gender? My parents don't get it.

I feel like I'm being pretentious for asking people to use they/them pronouns. Can you help me out?
so many people use those pronouns it's not an issue at all.
i think we get scared to go against the grain, or to go against whatever we were socialized to believe is the 'correct' way. pretentious, i think, is forcing all dmab people to use 'he/his' pronouns and all dfab people to use 'she/her' ones. being yourself isn't pretentious.
