Watch for his roaring counters: Shockwave Tiger!
Shockwave Tiger plays as a very unique character as he is a counter-heavy character with the ability to counter mid, lows, over heads, and grapples that his enemies throw at him. That being said a failed counter leaves him wide open for his opponents to get in an combo him due to the slow recovery they counters have if they fail. Due to this, Shockwave is a high learning curve character, as players need to be able to read their opponents and predict their next move in order to take advantage of his counters.
In addition to his more defensive playstyle, Shockwave possesses a dash move that can be executed either towards or away from the enemy that’ll allow him to either give himself breathing room or close the distance. However, if meter burned, Shockwave will immediately follow up with a dash in the opposite direction of the initial direction. This meter burned version allows him to either bait out attacks from his enemy, or can be used to throw zoners off their game if timed correctly
Shockwave Tiger’s character trait is Counter Momentum. Whenever he successfully counters a move, the trait meter slowly builds, with five counters giving him a full bar. When activated, the next attack Shockwave does will deal extra damage equal to the percentage of the bar filled and will be treated as a meter burn if applicable. However, timing is key as if the bar is not being filled constantly or isn’t use right away, it will slowly drain. Additionally, if Shockwave is hit while it’s active, but before he attacks with it, he will loose the trait.
