Castle Redwall concept, making the Abbey even more defensible.
The largest noticeable difference is the presence of two sets of walls instead of one. The outer set of walls opens towards the path and has no other entrances. The doors are minded by a proper defensible gatehouse as well as a pair of towers placed away from the main wall structure, enabling defenders to fire from above and behind any invaders.
The grounds between the inner and outer walls are primarily filled with orchards and crop fields, though some additional houses are built within the grounds for those who wish to live outside the Abbey proper.
The inner walls, like the outer walls, have a proper gatehouse monitoring the main gate, which is build in a concave curve to establish a choke-point. The inner walls also have a single recessed door in the north, east, and south, allowing easier access to the exterior without providing a large entrance to intruders.
Within the inner walls is the main Abbey building, along with the pond, a few orchards, and the belltower (southwest corner).
