I once purchased a boxed copy of Castlevania for the Amiga 500. It's true. Imagine my excitement as I got it home, poured over the contents of the box, set it up, settled in ready to play it... only to be SICKENED immediately. I still remember how my heart sank at how dirty they'd done my favorite game. Watching this footage of it now, though still awful, it isn't nearly as bad as I built it up in my memories. Still, yuck.
WELL, fast forward to decades later, and Amiga 1200 and CD32 owners have a FANTASTIC version of Castlevania to play, by way of Dante Retro Dev:
