power to the people i will never shut up about scar rejecting offers of allying with the heart foundation and the mounders only to say yes to both grian and the roomies and both times having something in the game pop up and prevent him from joining

thinking about how scar and grian were forced together in double life when they were at their worst coming out of last life. they were soul bound and forced onto the same team when it was obvious wounds were still fresh.

and then they were forced apart in secret life when they finally felt secure enough to team again of their own volition. the nature of scar’s task kept him from saying yes to allying with grian, and now grian is part of the roomies.

the watchers really do just want a more interesting show, huh?

i don’t think we talk enough about how grian and scar make a great villain duo. let desert duo be a little evil every once in a while

just sent a five minute voice message losing my mind about how grian has not formed any alliances or built a base or anything because he was following around scar the entire session going “we should do these things”

and then made a space for his base right across the river from scar??

so there’s a pretty common interpretation of life series scar’s design i enjoy where he has one of grian’s feathers whether as an earring or some sort of accessory on his person. so let’s just assume this is part of his design for the moment. i see it pretty often in third life, double life, and even last life. not as much for limited life.

let’s imagine that scar doesn’t wear it in limited life. he’s finally found a new, lasting alliance with people other than grian. they’re on different teams and he finally lets himself take the feather off and maybe puts it aside in a safe place.

does he take it out in secret life, does he start wearing it again? or does he leave it in his secret chest in the back of trader scar’s? maybe he goes back home one night, after grian says “give me your heart” and hands him cactus, and scar pulls it out of the chest. he admires it with the culmination of five seasons of yearning and considers putting it back on- it’d be so easy to just switch out the earring.

but he can't. grian’s joined another alliance. scar is alone again. no matter how friendly they’ve been this season, they’re still not allies and scar can’t let himself be blinded by the sun another time.

okay, so. if we were to put aside all possible desert duo bias, do we really think scar would’ve teamed with grian in sl if his task was different? he very casually danced out of offers of alliances with both the heart foundation and the mounders. i’m not sure if grian’s offer was different or if scar would’ve done the same thing he did to other teams. please discuss

scar and grian making the suspicious stew for decked out without even checking to see if anyone had the same idea before going to ridiculous lengths to get it is far too reminiscent of their attempt at a dark oak monopoly in 3l
