IIM Calcutta Calls for CAT 2018 Registration by Non-IIMs
IIM-C being the conducting body of CAT 2018 has announced the registration process for the Non IIMs that are interested for the admission of the students into Post Graduate Programme 2019-2021 based on their CAT score.
The application form and the MOU has been released by IIM Calcutta for the Non IIMs on its official website. Those Non IIMS interested to employ CAT 2018 score for their admissions must fill CAT Application form until July 25.
CAT 2018 Registration Procedure for Non-IIMs
To use CAT 2018 score for their admissions, Non IIMs have to get CAT 2018 Non IIM Membership by first downloading the MOU and the application form and then paying a certain amount of registration fee at the account detail as given in the MOU. The Institutes then have to fill the MOU and the Application form and send the scanned copies duly filled in , signed and stamped along with the required documents (mentioned inside the application form ) over the email. Programme Brochure, along with duly filled-in, stamped and signed two copies of MOU , single copy of Application Form in original and hard copies of other supporting documents as specified in MOU and Application Form have to be sent to Admissions Office of IIM Calcutta latest by 25 July 2018.
The Non IIM Institutions which have registered for availing the CAT 2018 score for the admissions will receive percentile of the individual candidates, Section-wise scaled score and total scaled score. These are necessary to set a specific criteria for admissions of the students.
Documents to be submitted by the Non-IIMs
A copy of accreditation certificate issued by either MHRD or AICTE or another equivalent statutory accreditation body have to be submitted by Non IIMs. The other B-schools that are seeking accreditation or are already in the process of acquiring accreditation also may avail membership CAT 2018 scores.
Whereas, a copy of documentary evidence have to be submitted by those Institutes which are registered as University, either incorporated by an act of Parliament or State Legislatures in India, or declared to be deemed as a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or by any law in the respective country of registration, and any institute affiliated to such university, in support of their claim.
The Institutes have to provide a copy of their programme brochure/pamphlet (Either of the current year or previous year) for the record and also a copy of their newspaper advertisement pertaining to their admission notification to CAT Centre 2018.
A duly signed letter of acceptance of terms and conditions have to be sent along with all the above mentioned documents on the following address:

CAT 2018 Application Fee
Those institutions which have not registered for CAT 2017, have to pay a one-time non-refundable Membership Fee of Rs.75,000/- and an Annual Fee of Rs.2,25,000/-, totalling the amount to Rs.3,00,000/-.plus 18% GST.
Whereas those which have already registered for CAT 2017 have to pay a non-refundable Annual fee of Rs.2,25,000/- plus 18% GST. The fee is to be paid through Bank transfer only.

CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria- CAT (common admission test) is a national level entrance examination conducted by IIM every year. It offers admission in the postgraduate courses in management (MBA). Its score is taken into consideration in the admission process by various IIM and other top business schools in the country. Every year around more than 2 lakh candidates applies for the entrance examination. But seats to offer from IIM and other b-schools are just 4000. The number of applications is increasing every year. Every year conducting introduces certain new elements and changes. The interested candidates must be aware of the CAT 2018 eligibility criteria before applying for the examination. According to CAT 2018, Eligibility criteria candidate must have bachelor’s degree from any recognized university or college. The Candidates belonging to General category must score 50% of aggregate marks. Candidates with SC/ST/OBC and disable category are granted 5% relaxation. The candidates who are appearing for the final examination or result awaiting candidates can also apply for the examination.

The APEX of CAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria
The aspirant must hold a bachelor’s degree and must have scored 50% aggregate marks. If not candidate must have scored equivalent CGPA by some reputed institute or college as per PARLIAMENT ACT or state of the legislature in India or should have minimum qualification as per HRD ministry.
-To be 100% eligible for the CAT examination candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree with required marks. And the candidates of final year must have the same percentage of marks to fulfill the CAT 2018 eligibility criteria
- As far as the calculation of marks is concerned it will be as per the process by university or institution.
- There is no limit to appear for the examination.
- Candidates who are appearing for the final year examination or waiting for the result can also apply for the examination. The requirement here is that candidate needs to submit the certificate from the registrar of the institute or dean of the college. In this certificate, it should be mentioned that the candidate has accomplished all the necessary documents required for the bachelor’s degree or Equivalent qualification.
-The candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC and disabled category are 5% relaxation for the exam. They must score 45% aggregate marks to meet the CAT 2018 Eligibility criteria.
CAT 2018 Selection Procedure
The CAT Reservation criteria 2018 are based under laws of the Indian government. This criterion is discussed below:
CAT Reservation of Seats 2018
Disability includes defects like hearing defects, vision problem and cerebral impairment. Candidates with not less than 40% of these defects will come under reservation as per section 39 PWD section ACT 1995.
Reservation awareness for the candidates
1. SC or ST candidates must have listed their caste or tribe and they should have the caste certificate should be obtained to present to IIMs.
2. The candidates belonging SC/ST need to upload the caste certificate or else application will be rejected by IIM’s for reservation
3. At the time of admission, the applicants need to give proof for reservation caste which means they need to submit copies of the certificate and show the original one as per the CAT 2018 eligibility criteria. At the time of final submission, the same documents should be submitted. In case a candidate is not able to present the caste certificate then his/her application will be rejected for IIM’s reservation
The significance of verifying eligibility criteria before applying for the CAT 2018
It is advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. If a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria then that application will be rejected. As the no of candidates is more than the seats available. So the most deserving candidate is offered the seat.
