I know people bash on spottedleaf for telling leafpool to follow her heart and then getting mad at her later but what I find interesting about the follow your heart scene is how spottedleaf says it. Because she doesn't just say "follow your heart" she also says "Deep inside, you know what is right, and you must follow your heart" and then reiterates the you know what is right part again when leafpool thinks that she was getting spottedleafs blessing to run away. yeah you can still interpret that as spottedleaf telling her to run off with crowfeather but you could also say that spottedleaf didn't say that at all and told leafpool to do what was right
