My Hot Take On Mondo TV’s Kot Leopold

Just two-and-a-half months ago, while I was on YouTube, I was surprised to have learned that someone behind Mondo TV (the creators of Happy Tree Friends BTW) decided to adopt and revive Kot Leopold back in 2015, so I ended up watching it; OFC it looked pretty good. I mean, I know most people don’t like it, but I would just be glad that it came back.

While Leopold himself still has a same voice actor (Alexander Kalyagin), the mice got new ones. If I’m honest, Diomid Vinogradov (Motya’s voice actor) did a pretty good job (even though I honestly expected a Daniel Eldarov instead); the same can be said for Andrei Barkhudarov (Mitya’s voice actor) for some reason (even though I expected an Anton Savenkov instead, but who cares).

Unfortunately, though, it still doesn’t have much female characters (even though they did add Leopold’s grandmother in at least two books) and if I owned the show instead, I would add some female characters (besides the dog nurse and Leopold’s grandma).

Then again, I’m just glad that Mondo TV beought back Kot Leopold.
