When one views this image, the eye is compelled to narrow in on singular aspects of it, yet wander throughout the entire portrait. A review requires dissecting the journey that is taken during this process.
Before focusing in, the eye sees the colors overall, and the patterns of the background. The red and gold of the carpet is contrasted against the blue cushion above it, a contrast that normally would invoke a sense of discord, or contrast. However, in this portrait, the colors are delineated by a true delight- the feline subject of the portrait, initially seen as simply a splash of color pleasantly dividing the composition of the photograph.
As one's eye is drawn to this wonder of a furred animal, one first falls upon the left, or hindquarters. The least defined region of the animal, one merely sees a glimpse of the void, a shining, slick and black portal to a region beyond human understanding.
Slowly, the eye gazes Eastward. The shining, slick sheen to the coat provides a quite "adorable", as the kids say, experience. Lazily, one single paw is thrown out southward, to betray the lazy elegance of the subject matter. Upon the paw, one can view yet another cute feast for the eyes- the so-called "beans", the wonderful toe pads of the cat that give them their elegance in stride.
The other paw, hanging mid air, may not have the same visible beans, however the "snoogly woogly toesies" also betray the same lazy, yet precise elegance that characterizes the pose of the animal over.
And then, we arrive at the head of the animal. The silhouette itself is highlighted by the ears, primed and triangular to detect distant objects. Brilliant green eyes focus in a similar region, providing a splash of color against the void. Slim whiskers break up the shadow of the feline, whispy and yet well groomed against the backdrop.
A predator. A companion. A floof.
Truly a sublime specimen. 5/7 perfection.

CAT Netflix Review: Story of Punjab’s two dark eras
CAT Netflix Review: There is a new series on Netflix, ‘CAT’ with Randeep Singh Hooda in the lead role. Balwinder Singh Janjua has written and directed this series. The specialty of the series is its story and suspense. It is very rare that I watch a series in a single day, but CAT has that quality that compels you to watch the episodes one after the other. Let’s talk about the plot of the…

Randeep Hooda: ‘CAT’ is an opportunity to portray real Sikh people
Randeep Hooda: ‘CAT’ is an opportunity to portray real Sikh people
There is a certain nonchalance in his demeanour that makes Randeep Hooda irresistible. Aging gracefully, he is finding newer ways to remain relevant in an industry that is quick to bracket actors. This week he will be seen in CAT, his second Netflix production, in which Randeep plays a police mole who was disbanded after the Punjab insurgency. But circumstances force him to return, this time to…
