No it's indoctrination. I was made to go to church nearly my entire life, and as we moved a lot I've been to a COUNTLESS amount. Devotions are a very very common practice, hell I was devoted. It is a ceremony where you devote your children, usually not quite old enough to talk, to god. Its indoctrination.
...Devotions are literally just pronouncing your faith in God. Youth Devotions are usually for teenagers who are old enough to think for themselves. I don’t know what kind of wacko churches you’ve been to, but that’s not how Devotions work. Regardless of the “countless” churches you’ve been to, it’s not enough to generalize the entire faith as dogmatic.
And if it’s indoctrination, it clearly doesn’t work, because you’re not Christian anymore. And of course it wouldn’t. You cannot be made to love God or believe in Him, that’s something he wants you to decide for yourself.
@the-pink-owl If I got anything wrong, let me know, you probably know more about this than I do.
