It was about two weeks, though Gage lost any strict count by the third day, since they'd been rescued. Though the subject of Holland's whereabouts had been broached early on, Gage hadn't had the heart to bring it up again. She was certain she knew at least somewhat Cat's struggle. To have the love of your life taken from you so suddenly....in a different sense, it was something Gage was all too familiar with. She meant to speak to Cat about it, to reassure her somehow, or to remind her that she wasn't alone, but they hadn't gotten around to any in-depth conversations. There was too much chaos going on, and Gage was too preoccupied - with her own healing, with Wiley's, and with the adjustment to this strange new world they found themselves in.
She'd meant to talk to Cat of course, but each time she chickened out. It would be hard to comfort her without bringing up Carly, and Gage wasn't sure how much to say about her. She wasn't sure how much even Wiley knew about Carly. So that particular afternoon, what came out instead was -
"I never thanked you. For sending the thread." Gage hovered in the doorway as she spoke, not quite wanting to intrude, and not quite wanting to leave.
