❝ ————————  ❞  girl, with a heart like a HAMMER, f i e r c e in her theatrics ( a hammer, POUNDING against her rib cage, fracturing the bone with each strike of pure heart against ivory; OLD HEART in a YOUNG BODY, young body stumbling over a threshold with a full cup in hand, hard laughter pouring from dark lips like bourbon chasing the rim of the glass. a lazy arm around the waist of a girl she’s talked to maybe twice in adieu, tightening only when the illusion required she lose her balance, a boy whose hands she doesn’t recognize on the other side. as SEVENTEEN as SEVENTEEN would allow, until car’s in sight & carefree girl is unmasked, edges replacing sweet soft baby girl curves and sharp blues alert, almost dangerous in their easy grasp at attention. she rummages in her bag for her keys, bare legs chilled by a swift breeze.
