I sort of abandoned Tumblr because of a few reasons, but mainly because I never really developed a following or got feedback for any original content despite trying both a blog-style announcement of day-to-day activitys and then just shamelessly soliciting sales for my jewelry and shit (it was always kind of the subtext of the blog, even though my actual life is way way more intresting than the fact that I managed to develop the skills to start a small brand to support myself).

Tumblr I think developed a bad rep for small independent bloggers because all I see on my feeds is endless re-blogs of the latest travesty in social justice world, tired memes that I already saw on reddit, and insecure teenagers posting nude snapchats and re blogging others. And Furries. Lots of furries. It’s not that I have a problem with any of these communitys (I think its great that they can find each other), but I just feel that because of the way tumblr is set up that the content of small independent bloggers is lost in the echo chamber or re-blogs of more popular content.
