⁣A fotógrafa inglesa Jane Bown (1925-1914), que trabalhava para o jornal The Observer em 1949, tirou dois retratos do poeta, romancista, cineasta, designer, dramaturgo, ator e encenador de teatro francês Jean Cocteau (1889-1964) com sua gata siamesa Madeleine em sua casa em Paris. ⁣Cocteau compartilhou sua vida com muitos gatos e foi um membro ativo do "Cat Friends Club" parisiense.
