writer ask game! favorite passage
Thank you, @catglomerate! I hope you’re having a nice Saturday 😊💕
I have lots of favorites, and I chose this from one of my SLBP works because it’s the fandom we’re both in! (。♡‿♡。)
I’m very fond of this one because I find Ieyasu’s petty jealousy amusing.
Ieyasu scanned the room until his gaze landed on her sitting form on the opposite end of the hall with some of the other retainers. The first thing he noticed about her were her cheeks; the hint of pink in them slowly making itself known into a blush. She had been drinking, it seemed. Not that he minded that fact much; he has yet to see what she was like with alcohol flowing in her system, and for that, he was curious, very much so. Toramatsu sat by her side and said something to her—something Ieyasu was too far off to hear or to even take a guess—and then, her shoulders shook in laughter.
She was laughing at something Toramatsu was saying.
Whatever could that one be saying that had her laughing like that? To Ieyasu, Toramatsu was the most boring retainer ever. Surely, whatever he said could not be so… funny? The next thing he knew, Ieyasu was gazing at the way vague crescents appeared on her cheeks, how they got deeper as her lips spread wider into a smile, her eyes fluttering closed as she laughed once again, and the way they opened when she gave Toramatsu a reply. Briefly, he wondered why her movements caught his attention; it wasn’t the first time he has ever seen her smile or laugh, but somehow, seeing her right now made him want to—
His train of thought was interrupted when she glanced his way and caught him staring at her. She blinked a few times in surprise and offered him a shy wave. Her cheeks were now fully red, and her smile was more subtle, yet he still found himself drawn to them—to her.
Ieyasu smiled back, a touch of poison gracing his lips. It was the only acknowledgment he gave her as he looked away and tried to gather his thoughts in the process. He would have his fun with her later, but for now, he had to find a valid excuse to leave the celebration as soon as he could.
