•• 101/365 Birchbox arrived. Was initially pretty disappointed but the make up remover is actually amazing and the brow gel isn’t bad!

TESCO X CATH KIDSON FOR MARIE CURIE CANCER CARE
OBJECTIVE: Raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and increase awareness of reusable bags and reduce consumer dependency on single plastic bags.
IDEA: Homeware designer Cath Kidston is producing an eco-friendly re-usable bag range for Tesco. The fabric of the bags is made entirely out of recycled plastic bottles, which from an ecological point of view means waste will be diverted from landfill and will avoid the extraction and processing of raw materials. The bags were priced at £3.50, with 50p from each purchase being donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. A minimum of £250,000 will be raised, which in turn will fund 12,500 hours of nursing care at home.
Neither Tesco nor Cath Kidston are profiting from the sale of the bags.
RESULTS: The initiative was expected to raise about £200,000 but in fact raised in excess of £500,000 with the bags selling out within the hour and being auctioned on ebay for as much as £50.
