Hapoy WBW! What's your favourite world building bit in your current WIP? @catharticallysarcastic
Hey @catharticallysarcastic thank you for the fun question!
Boy howdy do I have a lot of worldbuilding in both my WIPs, so it took me some time to figure out my Favourite.
For Rocket Boosters, I think it's the Death of the Trillionaire(tm) backstory piece. I had a lot of fun figuring out what finally tipped people over the edge enough that his own private militia turned on him!
The answer is: an ostensibly well-meaning but ultimately self-serving act that Screwed Everything Up For Everyone. It has to do with a privately funded power grid upgrade that goes so horribly wrong that it causes a huge EMP, which leads to a nation-wide state of emergency, which leads to the National Guard being called and martial law being enacted, riots, revolts, and a country-wide lockdown.
All of that happened about 10 years before the start of the story. :)
For Athenaeum, I love the design of the main character's home city, Paredes, and the giant atrium that serves as HQ for the Greenhouse Project. It's shaped like a lotus flower, and it opens during the day so the solar panels on the 'petals' can take in energy and closes at night. It houses a garden sustained entirely by Source and cultivated by conduits who have specialized in botany and horticulture. This is where they are trying to create plants that will withstand the harsh conditions of the wastes in an attempt to bring life back to the barren parts of Terra Verde. It's been pretty slow going, but they make progress.
Happy STS! What's your favourite thing about Zephyr? (Or if you'd like - I'd really like, all of them) @catharticallysarcastic
That's a sweet question, thank you Szandra ^^
Zephyr - how postive he is. Very cheerful idealistic guy who looks for the best in every person and situation. Not in a careless or stupid way, just choosing to deliberately focus on the good instead of the bad, to overcome the bad. It isn't a reckless cheer, it's balanced and thought out and gives him that peaceful sentence feel, while his eyes sparkle intensely about the wonder of the world.
Skye - her capacity for passion. Her insecure shy front hides the way she is passionate about having a passion, a cause, her work, her questions, her dreams and her passion for love. While she doesn't get close to people easily, she is filled with affection and love that she yearns to share and bestow on someone (she is scared it will drain her though, so she is very very picky about people she chooses. She can't compromise her dreams for other people, but she really wishes for someone she wouldn't need to do it with).
Leander - that he is so honest. He can't be anything less than he is, and combined with his confidence, independence and almost zero capability of feeling emberassed about what he thinks and feels (he is easily flustered by affection and feelings of other people though) it's very freeing to watch him. He feels, he says, he goes. If you can't handle it, your problem.
Hal - how contemplative he is. Even when numb from grief and escaping into sleep, his mind is so curious and intense, his thoughts can and do bring him out into the world again. He is just having so many, his brain running 200% all the time, even when he is not feeling he is at least thinking about feelings or of others feeling, about logic and legacy, consequences, theoretical experiments and analysing it out to practice...
Kieran - how bold and uninhabited he is. He fearlessly throws himself at things, going after his goals, following what he feels, standing against the world, cause what worse could happen than to stay where he is? He is challenging, to the point, assertive and radical in how much change he will invite in his life, and it's inspiring to watch.
Great question, thank you ^^
Happy STS! What greek god your OCs would be? I'm greedy and would like to hear of all of them :P @catharticallysarcastic
Thanks for the ask, @catharticallysarcastic! It's been a while since my ancient Greek phase and I needed to do some research. I'm sorry if any of these are off or inaccurate! I didn't stick to the characters' genders since some of the boys were better represented by goddesses.
All of these OCs go by he/him except for Eleni, Margot, and Ozz-rek, who have she/her pronouns.
Briar: Hebe, the diligent and hard-working goddess of youth, forgiveness and mercy.
The Engineer: Hephaestus, god of fire, blacksmiths, and artisans/craftsmen. The guy even made automatons, as well as a throne that trapped Hera in her seat (*cough* the androids' compartments...)
Eleni: Achlys, spirit of misery, "death mist" (cloudy dead eyes), poisonous flowers, and everlasting night. She's described by Hesiod this way: “...Achlys, dismal and dejected, green and pale, dirty-dry... and off her cheeks the blood dribbled to the ground, and she stood there, grinning forever, and the dust that had gathered and lay in heaps on her shoulders was muddy with tears.”
Margot: Hecate, goddess of magic, ghosts, and crossroads, who is capable of great good and great evil.
Ozz-rek: Lyssa, spirit of frenzy, madness, and rabies. She takes no pleasure in using her powers to drive men insane, but does what she's directed to do.
Circuit: Athena, goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and strategy. And she's got a flying companion too!
Sharpe: Ares, god of savagery and brutality in war, who is often humiliated in the myths 🥲 Oof
Lug: Euphrosyne, goddess of mirth, created to fill the world with goodwill and pleasant moments.
Claw: Apollo, god of archery, protection, light, truth, healing, dance... lots of stuff. Beloved, feared, and respected, he wards off evil and protects travelers and youth.
Mobo: Horme, spirit of energetic effort, impulse, and rushing into battle 😂
4 & 12 for the ask game if you still do it @catharticallysarcastic
i do! thank you, @catharticallysarcastic!!
4. Boom! The witch’s curse means that you can only ever write about one of the characters you written about before… ever again. Which character will you hang on to?
this question is impossible T-T i would love to pick Kora from The Assassination Project because that would just be super cool, but i am not sure if i actually could write her in that world for the rest of my life? so i think i might actually go with Dahlia from In the Land of Twilight. the whole concept of the project is basically that there is no strict plot, my draft is already just one filler episode after the other so i think it would be easy to keep writing her? but then her whole character is sooo neatly tied with other characters of the story. how could i write her, but not the others? aaah how truly evil xD but yes, i'd go with Dahlia who will keep running through the forest for the rest of her (dead) life (?), talking to plants and fishing insects out of the water ^^
12. Do you have any writing rituals?
i talked about my line spacing ritual in this ask before, but maybe writing sprints could also be considered a ritual? i really enjoy writing with other people, even if i'm only sprinting half-heartedly. it helps me focus and makes me much more productive! and maybe my cat who always lays on my lap as soon as i sit down to write x)

Uncommon Questions for OCs and their creators:
Thank you for the questions, @catharticallysarcastic! I believe for these I’m going to answer about Martin from my Tropical Storm WIP.
4) How easy is it to earn their trust?
Martin is pretty trusting...trusting enough that if a stranger told them online through an official-looking chat that they were a fellow agent there to help, that he would simply believe them and become an accidental information leak.
6) Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Martin definitely considers laws as flexible for the most part. He enjoys pushing scientific boundaries and at moments he is a-okay with bending the rules if it will have a positive result.
G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?
Honestly, probably how trusting he is. He’s also pretty forgiving and so while he’s just believing people without strong evidence and forgiving people that turned on him, I’m over here like....Martin, no...No you’re just going to get yourself hurt again, don’t do that...But he’s a stubbornly friendly penguin...And he doesn’t listen to me.
20 & 21 for B&B /@catharticallysarcastic/
Thanks for the questions @catharticallysarcastic
20. Who is the most clingy?
Bethany. Blake is her first real partner, she’s never been with with anyone in a serious manner before, they’ve all just been fuck buddies and one night stands. The mere suggestion of anything beyond that used to make her run away.
But she survived her birthday and Blake loves it when she’s close and she’s sure he’s going to wake up one day to the fact everything that’s happened to him is her fault and leave, so she wants to take advantage of every moment with him that she can.
21. Do they steal each others clothes?
Bethany def steals Blakes clothes, to the point that there’s a certain shirt of his - his favourite shirt at that - that he can’t find with his power unless he searches for Bethany’s grey shirt.

Letter to My Writeblr Friends
I have been so behind on everything. I just keep sending out all kinds of writeblr asks and letting my own pile up as I ignore the very stuff I wanted to be a part of out of laziness. At least as long as I send out asks, I feel better about everyone else having their fun.
Thank you for tagging me in games and/or sending me asks. If I don't return MAGM, TbTT, or STS asks, I swear I am not ignoring you. The answer might be complicated and I got lazy. Sometimes I respond weeks later.
As for WBW, sometimes I just don't have an answer because my stories aren't fantasy-based enough for the unique question (which you should probably take as a compliment lol) but I always send out asks for you to work on your stories. Actually, if I don't usually send you one and you see this and want more asks, feel free to let me know you want one and I will gladly send one. I love seeing the writings of others.
Thank you for accepting me into this beautiful community and you have a wonderful day!
