Distant Journey (by Reki Kawahara)

This story takes place after they left Rulid and finished working at Zakkaria Garrison. They stay over at an abandoned inn before applying to Swordscraft Academy. Alot of things insue.

Note: This story was included as a bonus in SAO Alicization anime volume 1 Limited Edition BDs and DVDs. It’s been translated by gsimenas and is split in 3 parts.

AU where Raios & Humbert get bitten by a poisonous crab thus doesn’t make Eugeo and Kirito break the Taboo index. They instead graduate from the Academy and become Integrity Knight trainees: Synthesis 32 and 33. 

In order to quell the feuds and schemes (and synthesization) from Administrator, they bake cake---as means of a peace offering & distraction/spying.

32/33 was part of Reki’s mini drabbles (material edition 28 and 29) but later extended/branched out to it’s own comphrehensive series. It’s distributed in 3 chapters: IF YOU WERE HERE, IF YOU WISH IT and IF WE COULD WALK TOGETHER.

Yujikiri’s teacher/student dynamic

It's proven that Kirito teaching Eugeo the sword is something intimate between them, If anything, It´s one of the things that makes Kirito’s attachment to Eugeo very clear, pretty much being a sign of love I’d say...
