How do I even begin to describe Catherine Lau?
Catherine Lau is flawless. She has two Coach purses and a silver Lexus. I hear her voice is insured for $10,000. I hear she does car commercials…in China. Her favorite movie is Mean Girls. One time, she met Vanilla Ice on a cruise. And he told her she was pretty. One time, she punched me in the face. AND IT WAS AWESOME.
Basically, I want to be Catherine Lau. Really badly. Like it’s kind of pathetic how much I want to be Catherine Lau. Like almost as much as I want to sit at her lunch table and wear pink with her on Wednesdays and get invited to her pool party where there will be girls there in their bathing suits.
Don't be fooled because she may seem like your typical talented, beautiful, hard-working, amazingly pure-hearted, sweet as Sugar Motta (but sounds like Adele) superstar, but in reality, she's so much more than that.
All Mean Girls jokes aside, I really do want to be Catherine. She is one of my biggest role models. First of all, I have never met anyone kinder. I’ve never seen her be mean to anyone. Never. She is SUCH a sweetie. She will go to the ends of the earth for her friends (and her cats…) and try to see the good in everyone. And she is one of my very best friends and I am so lucky to have her. She’s always there for me to love and support me, no matter what, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
Second of all, she is super mega (foxyawesomehot) TALENTED. Daaaaaamn this girl can not only sing so so so beautifully (which has been established), but she is such a gifted writer (from her formal essays to pretty much the funniest scripts I have ever read… if she doesn’t write for SNL for at least a year I will be so surprised), musician (ugh when she plays piano my heart just melts), and actress (seriously this talent came out of nowhere like what the hell she is a natural). Catherine is basically all-around amazing, but I think her biggest talent ever is her diligence. She works harder than anyone I know. I can only hope to be like her someday, because this girl is a phenomenal hard worker. She puts so much effort into perfecting everything she does, and I constantly am left baffled at how in the world she can pull it all off. She goes above and beyond expectations while maintaining such admirable integrity and grace. Someday, I hope everyone will be able to appreciate how truly brilliant and outstanding she is. She deserves that appreciation so much. She deserves to know how amazing she is.
And finally, this girl’s also got a LOAD of something Blaine Anderson like to call ~COURAGE~. I’ve had the opportunity to watch her grow over the past 3 and a half years and let me tell you, her journey has been unbelievable. She’s gone so far, from being too shy to speak in class before, to now getting up in front of a lot of people and performing! Each and every day, I’ve had the honor of seeing her confidence blossom and her heart open up to try scary but new and exciting things! To say that I’m proud of her is an absolute understatement. I am completely humbled by her superstar presence and the light of grace and strength that she constantly radiates. Catherine’s example of courage keeps me grounded, and I could never thank her enough for letting me be there with her as she grew and still continues to grow, because Catherine’s journey doesn’t end here. I have full faith that we will all continue to see the greatness of Catherine Lau for years to come.
